Default Getting my Star Wars up and running...

After finding I had no dongle, Nik from Just Pachinkos sent me out one. So now I have a good transformer, dongle and everything should be working. Trouble is, I can't start a game. The lights, video and all work but I just can't get any balls to do anything.

I had a look at the instructions I found here and I don't seem to have an equivalent to the free play button for some reason. I don't know enough about pachinkos to know what I'm looking for. When I turn the dial, nothing happens.

Anyone have any idea if there is something simple I might be missing?

Edit: Actually I've just noticed I have that error code 7 - out of balls according to the instructions. I have balls in there though. Have I ot them in the wrong place? I have some balls in the top tray at the back and then balls in the front tray.

Nope, just fixed that (had manual ball lock down) and now its showing - (no abnormality) and still isn't going...

When you turn the knob, do you hear a clunk or or simply nothing?

Not a thing. There doesn't seem to be any sign of a change when I turn the knob. I'm making sure I have a good grip of it on the metal ring.

My guess would then be your dongle isn't doing what it's supposed to be doing.

Also the free play is a thing that Arby does to his machines. It's not standard to have this feature.

Okay, I'll try reseating the dongle. Cheers.

Edit: You're a genius Tulsa! It wasn't the dongle but when I got down to check it was okay I noticed a loose connection right at the bottom (a blue plastic connector). The plastic was broken and the wires were bent, must have broken in transit. Well I bent the wires back and connected it and it works!

I'm playing my very first games of pachinko!!

That is pretty funny! I hadn't noticed at the time obviously.

I'm very glad that I do now, in fact, have a dongle.

I'm glad it wasn't just me who found all the talk of dongles, knobs and rings funny. I don't know whether knob has the same meaning in the US, but here in the UK it means something different to say that you had a good grip on your knob.

Definitely a clean dongle is an important part of enjoying the play experience. many a player has been disappointed with a dirty dongle and a tight grip on the knob is an essential strategy to better performance.Remember Loose grips sink ships or was that lips i forget its one of those WWII sayings.
