Default Newbie - Pink Panther Feedback/Input?

    Hi Guys,

I'm new to the whole Pachislo Slot thing... buying one for my mom and one for my wife this Xmas... I'm sure they'll love them.

Any input? Pink Panther? If decent, worth $200?
    Hyper Juggler? Decent machine?

    Long-winded version:
So, my main issue is this... I have someone locally that has a Pink Panther slot available and he was asking $250... agreed to take $200. This is a private party (classifed ad) deal. So, I have tentative plans to pick up that machine tomorrow. I saw it, it looks like it's in decent shape... he has tokens, manual, key and except for a small rusted area on the coin tray, it looked ans seemed to play nice. BTW, it also plays quarters - he claims.

But, since I met with him a week ago I've been looking around to find the Pink Panther machine to see if it has a value of around $200... I've only seen a couple on ebay, and they seem to be getting over $200 for them...

I began looking at Pachislo vendors and found no Pink Panther's - I take it they don't make them anymore...but did find some nice deals... like I bought my mom a Hyper Juggler at Pachislo.com and even with delivery is only costing me $134 -and it comes with a 1 year warranty.

So I'm starting to think maybe I should buy from a vendor and forget the PinkPanther machine...

Any input? Pink Panther? If decent, worth $200?
    Hyper Juggler? Decent machine?

    Thanks!!
    Peace,
    Rick

The Pink Panther pachislo was made in 99 I believe. That's why you don't see it very much. As with all pachislo's made prior to 2000, they are lacking in a lot of the bells and whistles we see today. Fairly standard three reel slots. Basic game play.

Unless you're a Pink Panther collector, I would think that $200 was over-priced for this model. There are many many better machines that can be had for a the same or less money factoring in shipping.

Check out www.bigbearpachisloshop.com for some really good deals and of course eBay.

    First off, welcome.

Now that the formalities are out of the way, you might now know, but there are two Pink Panther machines, one that used the license and one that sort of skirted it. Both machines are over three years old which is reasonably old for the machines so it may be tough to get either. Both are OK machines in their own right as is the Juggler series.

If you are willing to put that much down on a machine, though, why not go for a newer, flashier machine and check out some of the vendors we have listed on the boards like http://www.bigbearpachisloshop.com/ for example?

    http://www.pachislo.com/pachislo/bargain.html

Any recommendations on whcih machine might provide better play?

Also , what about auto-stop? They will add for $30 - worth it?

    Peace,
    Rick

Yeah, that sounded kind of funny when I typed that too but there are different kinds of Mom's. Like if she's a "sports" Mom, I would recommend one of those "Kyojin no Hoshi" machines but if she's just a "Mom" Mom (the cooking, cleaning, get a haircut and job type Mom) then any of those would do, really. It's sometimes good to know a person's interests when choosing a machine.

LOL. yeah, she's essentailly a "Mom" mom!!

She spends alot of time at foxwoods and Mohegan Sun playing Double Diamonds or any machine that's a 2-coin machine that essentailly pays evenly except for the jackpot... I bought my mom the Hyper Juggler..

For my wife, she like to play those machines that have like special payouts and side spins that let you 2x, 3x the payout, LCD,etc.
Basically, she 'em all - whcih stinks for my wallet, btw.

I priced like theat Wild Wolf from the bargain page, added shipping, added the autostop board, adn it still comes out to $199... so I'm thinking it might be best for me to call this guy on the Pink Panther and take a pass... although I feel major bad about doing that. I guess the big selling feature on that PP was that it played quarters as well as tokens (is this even pssible?).

So, of the machines listed here, which provides the most excitement for my wife for my $$ (hmm.. that sounds bad, doesn't it? ;-)...

    http://www.pachislo.com/pachislo/bargain.html

I realize I'm gpoing to need to spend more on tokens if i go this route.

You guys haved been great, thanks!!

    Peace,
    Rick

You'll spend less on tokens. The quarter conversion will cost you between $125 (500) and $250 (1000) in the machine just to play it. Since most vendors sell their machines to come with 500 tokens already increasing that to another 500 is going to be around $30.

You could buy another machine for what you'd use in quarters just for play. Seriously pointless endeavor.

Wild wolf looks like the best for you on that site.

have you checked Gaku's deal too???

you might get a model with more features.

When you look inside the Pink Panther you will see it isn't made as good as the newer machines. you can't beat progress

I think the Juggler series will please your mom once she gets the hang of the gameplay. It's more skill oriented so there's more of a sense of achivement if you can pull off a big win than the other types of machines.

Oh man, his prices include S&H?? wow!! thanks!

So, the machine I'd most be interested in for my wife would be the Penguin Paradise (because of theme, she loves penguins)... and input on how that one plays? Exciting enuf?

    Thanks

lol, Tulsa and I linked to Big Bear up in our first posts.

Yeah, I've played Penguin Paradise - nothing special as far as pachislo goes but if your Mom is a "Penguin" Mom then, by all means, get it. For those who know the Pulsar series, it's kind of similar.

Strangely, Gaku doesn't have an online play guide for it though...that's too bad.

Here's the official page (in Japanese) for the site if you want to click around and get a feel for what the machine is like:

LOL , yeah i didn't realize Gaku included shipping when i first looked... i guess i'm challenged in many ways.. :-)

So, playability/fun/excitement... wild wolf or penguin paradise?

Thanks for having patience with me!!

I would go for PP, especially because your Mom likes penguins. It's a cuter machine and, excitement-wise, about the same was WW.
