Default Newbie / unreasonable expectations ??

    Hi!

I find myself a proud new member of Pachination having purchased my first (of MANY, i fear) machine. The new addition to the family, Hanabi Hyakkei, arrived in beautiful condition and is a ton of fun. I've get my eye on a dozen more but "she who keeps the cash" says I must wait until after christmas

The only problem is most of the LED reel lights (http://www.pachitalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=5925) don't work.. after a brief email exchange with the vendor I tried the resolder trick (http://www.pachitalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=7734) which did bring back a few of the dead ones, but most remain in various states of "dead". Soo my questions are:

    1) As many folks seem to have a problem with these, would it be unreasonable to expect the vendor to cover these under warranty (keeping in mind, it came this way)??

    2) As the machine seems fully funcational without them, am I just being anal and shouldn't care that they don't work? Am I missing anything by them not working?

    Thanks!!
    Bill

If your machine is still covered under the vendors warranty and that warranty does not exclude these lights, then you should expect the vendor to take care of you.

I would expect any vendor i bought a machine off of to replace those lights.

It should come in fully operational from the vendor, and if it didn't, the vendor should take care of you and that's not being anal whatsoever.

Have there been any advances in fixes (causes) for the reel light failures beyond the re-solder technique described elsewhere? I'm curious in case my Hanabi Hyakkei fails at some point.

    Thanks, Wayne in Waterdown
