    Blimey......

Haven't heard of Fablon for years!!

It used to be very seventies in designs and people would unsuccesfully try to recover their Kitchen Doors in it.........

It was 'so Not a good look' back then........

As you can see the finish is pretty good to say the least. I didn’t do any sanding, but my case was in good shape already, just light scratches and faded. If there were significant imperfections or lots of stickers I would try to sort these first before I wrapped. The fact the material is thin (though it doesn’t look it once applied as you can see) has the benefit that you can easily do the whole machine in one piece as it will easily bend around the corners. I did the whole job in about 1 hour.

The material was very easy to apply without bubbles, and trimming the edges was really easy with a sharp scalpel. There has been no problem covering screw rebates though, you know – where the hinges screw into the case etc. These holes are covered and are not visible.

Hope this helps, any more question I would be only too pleased…..

Isn't the Product " Fabulon " ? As I recall it was very toxic and contained some very volatile smelly fumes. It was used primarily for floor finishing. I believe it was pulled off of the market in the mid 90's. Varethane is very similar and less toxic.

Hey guys I am a newbie but have bought 3 Paschislo's in 3 weeks. I think I am hooked. This lamininate looks great applied. On the front did you just trim with the edge? Around the handle holes did you just trim around them? Did you do the bottom? Sorry if my questions are stupid but I dont want to screw up good laminate. Thanks

I overlapped the front on mine, it's a cleaner look. On the handle holes, it's really a personal preference. I like the look without them and never found those to be of much value anyway as the weight of the machine is distributed better when lifting from the bottom but you can certainly cut out and fold inward the laminate to reveal those handles and provide a bit of cushion for them. I never did the bottom of them myself.

Cut out the hand holes after you get the film on, same as trimming around the back & front. I never do the bottom.
