    Default Big Bear Volume Controls

To all you that have put L pads and other volume controls on your pachi machines, If Big Bear would have been around when you got your machine, WOuld it be worth the 20 extra for his installed volume control? And to those who have big bear volume controls do they work real well? There are times I can have the machine kinda loud, and other times it needs to be really quite due to family sleeping. The two volume controls that I have purchased (radio shack) work alright but you have a fine line. 9x out of ten I can't get it where I want it so there is no sound at all. While turning the volume control down, it gets to a certain point, statics and shuts off. I am wanting something that is like a radio, it keeps gradually (sp) getting softer and softer til there is no sound at all. not some level on 5 and when you go to 4 it automatically goes to 0 (no sound at all) Christmas is comming up and I almost have wife convienced of a big bear package deal and was just wandering what everyone's thoughts were on his volume controls?

3 machines with volume controls installed, $60

3 machines (avg 3 speakers ea.) with volume controls from Syscom $30 + your labor.
    Meanwhile, somewhere in Oklahoma.

I have a machine from Big Bear with a volume control and wouldn't go any other way again. It's external, easy to get to and works perfectly. If for some reason it didn't, he would stand behind it without a doubt.

Gaku's volume controls are excellent! From loud to nothing, like a radio!

Gaku rocks. No doubt about it. (I'm waiting on a package order from him that shipped out today.) I already have an Animal King from him with external volume controls. Maybe because it's a Sammy model, I'm not sure, but the bottom speaker doesn't really ever get down to "0", and remains a little too loud at times. Not sure exactly where the problem lies, but I wanted to add this input so you'd have a full picture.

I would go with what Tulsa said and do Syscoms for $30 plus your labor. These are the only volume controls i like and will use and you'll save your self $30.

on the syscoms, they are internal right? Ok, so if it is 3am and I hit a bonus, then I gotta hurry and open the machine turn the do hickies down right???? cause on the two I have volume mods on the sound doubles in loudness during a bonus. thats why I was thinking more along the lines of bigbear. but if syscoms stays same volume bonus or reg play, I will try that first.

Ps.... thanks for all the opinions!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yep, that's the deal. If you change the volume often than you need an external controller.

So it works out to $10 difference per machine to have someone else do it professionally?

And not take the chance of screwing it up and voiding your warranty if you do it yourself??

AND to have them externally controllable from loud to near nothing, within a short reach???

Sounds like a no-brainer to me, IMHO. Get them pre-installed from Gaku.
