Question about shipping for ebay item

This is the question from a ebay member about my leather jacket (Hello. I live in Japan, but is there dispatch to Japan? I wait for an answer if good. Thank you). I told them I would ask about the best way to send it and a price I should charge. The jacket weighs about 5-6 pounds.

Look into EMS; that'll probably be the cheapest for that type of item but I thought you only ship to the US, Laz?

I have herd you guys talking about EMS, but What is it and how do I go about finding it and using it? I Know it said US only but I am willing to entertain this and check into it for them. The shipping price will probably be more then they will want to pay.

It's a service available through the post office internationally. Here's the Japanese post office web site (in English) to give you some idea of it but I'm not sure what the service link is to the USPS. Also, I'm not sure of their weight or size limits but it's worth exploring....

Go to your post office with the weight and size of the box and they will tell you the cost. And the paper work to fill out, Very simple.

I would only accept payment with paypal if shipping out of the USA,

A friend sold something and got paid with a special international bank money order, he had to go all over trying to find someplace that would accept it, then they charged him a cashing fee.

In my experience, post-office issued IMO's are OK though-at least from Japan to the US.

The post office does not carry all the size boxes so you have to go on line and get them shipped to you. I did this. Needed to Get an account. Did that but I marked off business. Figured I might need it for slot stuff to. Problem is they don't like my home address. I tried to get back to just change it to a personal account but darn if I can figure out how! It only lets me get back to the page to change my address. Any ideas from people that use USPS a lot? Also do they pick up packages at my home address if it is a personal account? If they do, how do you pay? I have sent a email to them but who knows when they will get back to me. They are the USPS!

If you can't close the account, just change the address you listed, then open personal account in right address.

I don't know about home pickup.

I can change the address but to what? My address is what it is. I will see if I can close the account I just opened to day.
