    Default Headphone jack

Has anyone ever tried installing a headphone jack on a pachi? Is it possible? If anyone has done an install, how was it done? Would be nice to play with sound when I get up real early and the rest of the house is still sleeping. Thanks

In the electronics/audio industry it is common to wire the headphone jack at the speaker output. The jack cuts off the speaker and transfers the speaker level output to whatever is plugged into the jack. So whatever volume level was going to the speaker would now be going to the headphones.

If wiring a jack across the speaker output you must be careful if using headphones so the audio doesn't come suddenly blasting through your headphones! You could damage your hearing that way. In general most of the time this type of jack is marked next to it as "external speaker" which could be used as a headphone jack.

Does this mean where the speaker wires originate? If so, can the jacks be installed anywhere along the speaker wire?

Yup, installed anywhere along the speaker lines. You are in essence breaking the speaker + (or hot) line when you plug a headphone into the jack. That breaks the connection to the speaker and routes it to the headphone.

So, can you join all the wires from 4 speakers together into one wire from a headphone jack?

ok so if one succesfully installs a headphone jack the hopper is very loud on paying out especially on Sammy models, they sound like machine guns shootin at ya, try and make the hopper quiet.
