Question Newbie Requests Help with NeoPlanetT

    Hi there,

Well my NeoPlanetT arrived from Pachinko_Pallace on Thursday and I still can't get the thing to work . I took it out of the box and fired it up and everything came on fine, then when I put my tokens in the reels would not spin. I did a reset and then the lights behind the reels were out and also the top panel and insert medal lights were out. I put tokens in the slot but they just came out into the token tray. I've done several resets, checked the ribbons and disconnected them (with the machine plugged in) and reconnected them and nothing. When I took the machine out of the box and set it up I did find a tiny spring sitting in the token tray and I did check the joystick and it's not that. Any suggestions? I checked all the buttons to see if any were stuck and they were not.

I called tech support on Thursday evening and spoke to Wayne a little and followed his instructions to check the ribbon connections and he told me to call back today when more experienced people were on hand. I called today and talked with Joseph who explained to me he would check out the problem with his most experienced tech and would call me back. Still waiting for the call. Let me know if you think of anything I can try. Thanks much.

    Paul

To me it really sounds like a loose or unconnected cable. Im not sure though since that isnt the problem.

Yeah, I was sure that was all it was. But I have no idea what the heck I'm doing. I also notice that when I try to do the reset and switch the key back to off there is no click from the solenoid. But like I said what the heck do I know.
    Thanks for the response!

try the following with the machine on:

Insert reset key and turn right does the L type part of the coin mechanism move, then turn it back to the left does it move? It should move both times, i unplugged the cable to my machine label CN4 and it didnt move, if your doesnt move it could be something wrong with this cable

If the NeoPlanet T is like Neo Magic Pulsar, the little spring you found most likely belongs to part of the coin mech. More exactly, the top of the metal plate that either allows token to go in the machine, or fall back out into the front tray. While playing you will hear this plate click when you start a spin and click again at the end of the turn. I had to remove mine to clean the plate becuase it was sticking sometimes. A real pain to get back on.

chaz great pic, that piece that spring goes on its sorta L shaped is the piece that should move, if the spring is missing most likely this is the problem.

So then it is just like the Neo Magic Pulsar. Man, I had a rough time getting that spring back on.

It is really easy to get the spring back on if you remove the coin mech.

It is only one screw and two cables. It pops right off.

Another note on that spring... when missing the L shaped moving part, or plate as I called it above should come right off pretty easily. There is nothing securing this plate to anything other than the spring tension.

Thanks Dalto, I guess I didn't look hard enough. At 1st glance I though I would have to remove the whole LCD to access the area. Where is this one screw?

It is the gold colored on in the picture above. To the left and down a little from where the spring is.

    Wow, you guys are awesome

Well I got that damn spring on finally, I went a different route and basically flipped up the El Vision screen after much deliberation. This is before I came to check for more replies from you guys. Unfortunately, it still does not work. RK I also checked the CN4 connection again, pulled it out and reconnected too.
Nothing. Thanks again for all your great suggestions. I'll keep you posted.

Make sure you are doing a slow and proper full reset. I get many a call from a customer that is just going too fast, forgetting to tap the joystick after changing odds or had the reset key in the wrong position when starting. Mike : )

Have you tried to spin the reels with the door open? Sometimes the reel cage isn't properly placed back in after the cleaning at the shop and will bind when the door is closed.

No I haven't, Tulsa. This sounds stupid, but do I just try and spin them manually? Can I remove the reel cage and then try to put it back in?
Thanks for the response. By the way, I heard from Eric (of Pachinko_Pallace) this morning and he said he was out of the office on Friday and would take care of my problem first thing Monday.

You can spin them a little by hand to make sure they are not jammed.
I would think if they were the machine would be screaming an error at you.

When you insert coins does the credits counter go up? When you press the spin lever does the machine make any clicks or anything?

Maybe, unplug the wires from the 3 stop buttons and the max bet / single bet buttons. The machine will not let you spin if a button is being held. In fact so far I have noticed that these machines dont let you press more than one button at a time. So unplug those and see if you can start the reels spinning. If they do, then maybe you have a button with a stuck contact.

Its my thinking that if you hit the joystick and the reels wanted to start but didnt, the machine would throw an error at you. However I think yours does nothing. Same as if you were holding down a button.
