Arby puts more into prepping his pachinko machines than wax. He does include lots of love though.

Check out these threads from when Lew and I bought our Star Wars from Arby:

    http://www.pachitalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=7046&highlight=sacpinplayers

    http://www.pachitalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=7049&highlight=princess

Here's a summary of what Arby does:
    Machine:
Clean the inside and out side of the machine.
Polish and buff the front of the machine.
Take apart the reflectors and lens, clean them so the lights are brighter.
Polish the cell with "Cell polish from Japan and designed for it".
Check all connector and mating parts for alinement and seating.
    Add volume controls as needed.
    Add Auto button as wanted.
On loose glass machines add "two" new Plexiglas windows (the game looks, sounds and plays better).
Replace the lock with one that is key matched, so it is easy to open the cell window and open machine from frame.
Check the speakers for any damage, replace as needed.
Check all boards on back to see that they are locked in place.
Add as needed a CR By-Pass connector (dongle).

    Frame:
Rebuild the frame replace the nails with drywall screws and grommet washers, also gluing and squaring as needed.
Mount play platform made from 1 by 4 inch number #1 pine boards, recess the screws to protect where machine is set.
Mount a 6 AMP Transformer with Auto-reset able thermal cutout, made by Power Volt, Inc., an USA made designed to run 27/7.
Add a three prong plug with ground and wire it up to transformer than machine, connect the ground system so it works.

Do a 10 hour run time to check all boards, transformer, ball configuration, lights and sound.
Just before wrapping for shipping, re-polish full front than bag and wrap.

I have been to Arby's shop,he is very good. Lots of older slots he has. He had a very nice LOTR machine shopped out when I was there. Taking them apart and cleaning and waxing them is not hard. Hardware problems are tricky though. Thats when you come here. And maybe praying to the pachinko gods might help.

You must not been here in quite awhile or you would have seen all most all the older slots are gone and double stacked rows of 2005 pachinkos are there.

A point I would like to make!

Anyone can do what I do, Anyone can spend time and money get wiring diagrams translated. I am not any type of god of pachinko.

I do what I do to put out the very best, not just in looks but in opperation too, in the lastest pachinkos. Ones that are so close to new, the film is still on allot of them. I dismantial the machine and really clean them.

The difference between other vendors and me, any machine I sell I would keep it, because I am proud of it.

The machines I get don't come over by boat to be subject to salt water spray. They are flown in EMS. I am sure I make less per machine avg. than TA does. I do it because I want to.

Look at the keys out there, I started including a key with each mahine, now the rest will also, if you push the issue.

If you were here, the LOTR has been put away for over a year.
Hardware problems are not tricking at all, if you know what to do.
Since you sell pachinkos, what be your name Stranger ?

Yes I have found out in life that anyone can do anything anyone else does.

But the real point here is will someone still be able to be competitive and offer a product that is of such superior quality that arby does? The answer to that is not likely. The reason : It takes a lot of time and effort(labor) and all dealers will put a cost of that labor + time into their final price of the pachinko. And let's face it : If you want to make a business out of selling these = you will think you have to push machines out the door fast and fast means throwing a new transformer on and a 2 minute wipedown of the machine.

After buying my STAR WARS PACHINKO (AKA THE PRINCESS) from arby (THE MAN WITH THE PURPLE HAT) , I sat down and calculated what his time must have been that he had spent in preparing her plus ems shipping he paid to make sure no damage was created by being on a container on a ship subject to the forces of nature on the seas plus his cost of the machine itself plus the commission he paid to his friend in Japan plus rebating to me the overage of the shipping cost to me! and I came up with that he yes might have made a small profit even after making the pachinko cyclic and autoplay functioning also.

At this point for me even if the STAR WARS PACHINKOS come out and sell for 300.00 delivered each, I know I got a far superior product PLUS I have had it way before most of the people that will be buying STAR WARS Pachinkos from dealers that will not offer the same service or quality that arby does.

Just like TULSA said earlier : It pays to buy quality

Some of us can't afford that quality on a single machine

I have been taken for wrong here. I'm not a hard core seller or a dealer. I often buy a pachinko, shop it out, play with it a few weeks, then find it a new home and get another one. Mostly the winter months. There of course are machines I like better than others and very few stay in my master collection. It is only a hobby to me and one I'm proud to be in. As for the shipping by sea. I can tell you this. I have yet to see one come off a boat dripping in sea water. The cargo holds are very water tight. Its just as safe as a plane. Maybe, even more so.The only part that sucks is it takes longer. I have bought some machines from a company in England in the past and shipped surface and it was fine but I just for the first time bought a couple of machines from Japan. The sad truth is,the day has come where you almost have to buy from Japan because once it hits US soil it costs an arm and a leg. More sellers from Japan are poping up but you need to be ready to shop it out when it comes.
Arby, you should get that LOTR machine out of the closet and play it,I run mine almost everyday.
I'm in Independence by the way.

Perhapes I will. What do you have in for pachinko right now? Did you sell your slots to just make room for pachinko? Do you mess with slots at all anymore? I sold you a Batman pachinko about a year ago. Ran it up to your place.Very cool machine to look at but not much fun to play. Although Batman collectors love it. Its a cross over collectable which is good because it sometimes brings new people into the hobby. I like LCD screens better than reels myself.
