    Default Pedometer Token Counter

In my everpresent quest to find modifications for our toys that are super cheap, I have been continuing my testing of various pedometers for token counters.

Thus far the results are not all that promising. The best I've been able to do is effectivly get a spin counter. The fasted pedometer I have been able to find thus far can count once for every 3-4 clicks of a token in / token out pulse. So when hooked to token in it just counts once for the 3 pulses, which give you a spin counter. That's actually not bad for token in because on most machines these days, you can only bet 3 tokens anyway. It doesn't help with token out, though.

I'm still testing out new pedometers as I find them, though, so I might find one that will help out all of us cheapos out there.

I found the same thing, cmk... just spins not tokens. And on the other side, just a payout... not how much.
My last thought was to possibly replace the crystal in the pedometer to a higher Mhz make that circuit run faster and maybe that would help. They are tiny little suckers, though.
Then, as usual, life sidetracked me.
If you give that a try, or come up with something else, let me know... I've got a scad of them puppies laying around here with nothing to count.

That's a good idea on the crystal. The one I just tried has the crystal hanging right off the edge, so it would be very easy to replace. I'll see if we have one at work....

    Thanks for the idea.
