A soft and damp paper towel should be OK... guess it depends on the brand. Haha! Other than that, get yourself a very soft (read that old...) small terrycloth towel and it shouldn't scratch anything.

An old cotton tee-shirt works very well on glass.

B/F says: Turtle Wax Polishing Compound & Scratch Remover (NOT RUBBING COMPOUND; Turtle Wax makes both products.) It's inexpensive and very effective in removing basically anything that can be removed, yet when used properly it doesn't remove anything shouldn't be removed. It comes in a round tub, and is available in most auto parts stores.

I visited Big bears whse and when they refurb these machines I noticed they use a new, clean 2" paint brush to remove the dust from the insides of the machine. It works very well to get into tight places. keeps everything clean and dust free on the inside. They will take a part out ...like the hopper.....and dust it off with the paint brush. Same with the reels and coin slots, etc. I bought a brush and I use it on the insides on my machines to keep everything clean! Open it up and dust it out with the brush!

Paint brush is a good idea. I use canned air to blow out dust. I also use a toothbrush if I get wax around the stop buttons, etc. (old detailer trick b/f taught me). I bet it was cool to see Big Bear's wharehouse; wish I coulda been there.

When our games took coins (Bally Gaming), we used a small paint brush to remove coin dust out of the corners and canned air to blow the coindust out of the coin mech and hopper optics on a 90 day rotation. Now most of our games are coinless (ticket in ticket out), and it makes cleaning them next to nothing now. But I here a lot of people talk and they wish the coins were back (more fun I guess).

In addition to canned air and a paintbrush we also use shoptowels, windex, simple green, q-tips, green scouring pad to remove gunk from the hopper.

We've found that often times Windex just doesn't get the reels as clean/polished as we'd like. The Meguiar's liquid polish seems to do a better job, and leaves them really smooth and shiny as well as spotless. And there's never any streaks with the polish, vs. the Windex. It may be just a bit Type-A, over the top - but since the reels are such a focus during game play, we like them to be as clean and vibrant as they can possibly be.

The previous owner of our Spin Luck had stuck some kind of colored masking tape on the reels at the edge of some of the 7's. Anyone have an idea on how I can safely remove the tape residue from the reels' surfaces without doing any damage? Haven't tried anything yet. Thought I'd check with the experts first.

Chris, thanks for the cleaning tip. We'll head to the local WalMart and see if they have any in stock. Thanks again!

I think that stuff is much like the Goo Gone stuff, which works well, too.

If you can't find Scot's citrus clean at walmart, Happ sell it. FYI happ is also a great source for all kinds of light bulbs Pachislos use.

http://www.g35frenzy.com/forum/images/smilies/rofl.gifI think the guy next door has some of that Ever Clear brewing in his backyard. It'll save me a trip to the store.

Thanks everyone for all the suggestions.
