*sigh* Everybody has stuff I want.

And here I am trying to design and built a coin counter out of junk I find laying around work.

One of these days I'm going to have a real job and then you all better watch out because I'm gonna be buying all the cool stuff.

Hmmmm That would make my life a lot easier.
I have actually designed my own hopper with a little rubber wheel that will grab a token and shoot it. As the high speed coin is on it's way out (currently into the wall since I don't have a stop on the end ) it actuates a high speed switch that increments the counter. It doesn't work very well, though. You'd think being an Engineer that my machining skills would be better. heh

I've been looking at this one, but the guy won't tell me how big it is or how much shipping might be. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...tem=6225626069

Anyway, a hopper would be handy. And it's 110V you say? I happen to have a couple of extra, resettable 110V 4 digit counters that I've been trying to figure out what to do with. That could work nicely.

How big is this hopper? *design wheels grinding*

cant find the camera wife had it last god knows where it is ...its a standard size pachi hopper runs on 100 v but 110 will work fine has sensor built in to sence coin output probably 24 or 10 volt just need a 24 or 10 volt relay to tick off the 110 to the counter...will send some pics tomorrow when i get the camera back

Here is what I did. I started with a 110V hopper. I took off the sensor and replaced it with a joystick microswitch (one with a long arm)..something like this.
I bent the arm of the switch to make it reach the part of the hopper that would pass through the old sensor. Hooked it up to the coin in of a PachiSTAT circuit board. I havent gotten around to writing the code to make it easy to clear the counters but that will come in time I guess since for now it works pretty good. I do find that it is not 100% acurate but that would probably be fixed with a little debouncing code.
