It really is an awful feeling when things go wrong with ebay auctions; first you get the buzz from the win and then the sick-to-the-gut sensation when things go pear-shaped and youve already parted with your spondoolicks. (Thats 'money' for our American chums!) I know, Ive been there and its dreadful!

Pizzaman, Im sure things will turn out OK because, as the other folks say, you have a certain amount of protection as you paid via a Credit Card AND Paypal. Yay! Laws differ from country to country in respect to this and (in the UK for example) there is a certain amount of liability on both these parties to assist you in the recovery of your dosh.

Ebay.com run loads of US-specific forums that can assist you here and advise you further - at the end of the day, dont forget that its YOUR money, youve worked hard for it and youre NOT a loser for entering into a bond of trust with this seller; If you've been ripped off then its your right to a refund!

And finally, if all else fails (IE: the seller turns out to be a total git and ebay HAVENT revoked the offending user's ID) do by all means leave big fat negative feedback for the seller. Thats what its there for - other people have the right to know what sort of person they are dealing with!

Whatever you do : don't let Ebay and Ebay owned Paypal dance you past your credit cards maximum time for refund on the charge. Remember that the longer they keep you on the dance floor the sooner your rights will disappear.
