Default king camel vs sloter kintaro?

First of all Thanks for all your great info and banter...you guys are so helpful and your passion for pachislo is obvious. I am a newbie looking to purchase my first machine and I have a choice of either the KC (exciting reel action) or Sloter Kintaro (Video). They are both offered to me for the same price. Are these 2 machines in the same league? I read your posts for hours and hours and a lot of you seem to like the KC but then there seem to be only a few who have Kintaro but talk about it being a great machine too. Are the "Americanized" machines considered more desirable? Are either of these machines considered harder to obtain? I don't really have much of a chance to play either so ANY info would be of great value to me. Any personal opinions would be much appreciated. Thanks so much. Oh... and yes I can only have one... for now anyways! Happy slotting!

I can't help you whith the Sloter Kintaro, I don't own one. All I can do is say again how much I like the reel action on the KC. Someone else can probably fill you in on the Sloter Kintaro.

I can't say for sure, but I would suspect the KC is perhaps a little easier to get right now. There seem to be quite a few offered as opposed to Sloter Kintaro.

What exactly do you mean by "Americanized?"

I can't help you with the Sloter Kintaro either as I don't have one, but I do have the King Camel and next to my Harley Davidson it is definitely my favorite machine. I don't see where anyone can go wrong with a King Camel as it does so many things and really keeps your interest.

Thanks for the info...any other thoughts? By "Americanized" I mean some words in English (ie "King Camel") instead of Japanese letters(the Sloter Kintaro has no English...strictly Japanese alphabet characters.) Thanks again and would love a posting from someone who knows a bit about Sloter Kintaro. Happy to receive any info from your knowlegable group.

From a gameplay and skill-oriented perspective, I think Slotter Kintaro is better. KC is a lot more straightforward but SK has a lot more tricks to it.

Oops, misuse of terms... I shouldn't have said tricks (though I'm sure it has those too), I should have said I believe it has more chance opportunities than KC does. It's got a more complex gameplay system too.

Non pachi lovers who just want a machine will usually pick a simpler machine.

Really, and I know some of you guys have KC, they are both fun exciting machines and have sufficient bells and whistles. IMO, the difference really is that KC has a simpler gameplay system and SK is fairly deep.

So maybe the solution is to get both.

There are always the incorrigible ones around, aren't there....

The odds on SK are higher but, on a hot streak, it can really win big.

    lol there, there now oops.

I'm just saying the gameplay is simpler. A lot of the newer machines now strive to be deeper now - Fist of the North Star (Hokuto no Ken) is another example of this.

Is deeper game play the reason Hokuto no ken and Yoshimune are so popular in Japan?

Glad you read a little better between the lines this time...

Good question; I don't think that deep gameplay in of itself makes some games popular over others because some of the more "simple" machines have been wildly popular. In the end, it's really how well the machine wins and how familiar it is but depth can also come from understanding the big picture of which kinds of patterns win and which don't.

It's kind of interesting but when I was a heavy player, I could play a machine for just a few minutes and could imagine if the game would become popular or now. This is not because I'm a genius (though some may think so... ) but it comes from knowing what players like and what they don't like. I've played machines that are almost too deep; so much so that they are too confusing and/or not worth the bother of understanding.
