Default Nishijin machine... What does this ad mean?

I'm looking at a "Vintage Nishijin" machine on eBay. The seller says it's in great shape but says some confusing things in the ad... could you guys decipher what he means w/r/t the "payoff activation"? Is he describing normal operation as described by someone without a clue (like me)? Or is there a potential problem with the machine:

    ----- Start Quote
"I was able to set the loading lever and fill the machine with game balls and the machine seems to work fine, certain target areas produce a ding ding tone when hit. I couldn't figure out the lever setting for the payoff activation as I have no instruction book, so this is recommended to... someone with knowledge of these games."
    ----- End Quote

Again, Thanks so much for your help. Hope I can eventually give back to the group what I'm taking.

    Cordially,
    Ken

As I read your post, I think it means ( dont know if its what he means!? ) that the ball hopper has to be filled for the payout lever to be engaged. There is a lever in the ball hopper that must be weighted down by the balls for any of the payout pockets to recieve/payout balls.
There is no lever setting as to control how many balls are paid out ( that I know of ) & payouts are all fixed at a certain number.
    Hope this is a help...
