Seriously Lucky, Dattia and John are all correct. This site will not promote the illegal use of these machines as it relates to most states and does nothing to benefit the hobby as a whole. We also do not promote the gambling industry. We will talk about our own gambling experiences from time to time but we will not link to gambling sites and have deleted a few people who's sole intent was to spam our site with their advertisments.

No problem. But given what you've said, wouldn't it make sense to simply state that explicitly somewhere on your site in a sticky or faq or something? When I saw the responses to the coin/token posts I looked for something along those lines but didn't find anything. That's what was confusing me as far as what the "big deal" (again, no pun intended) was in terms of making the switch, especially after seeing one mod's posts that were not totally against the conversion. If it is stated somewhere and I missed it....sorry, my bad.

UPDATE: :oops: OK. I found it when I searched FAQ under "Conversion". But originally, when I first clicked on the FAQ and found nothing besides a search box it was unfamiliar to me. My bad. As soon as I typed in "conversion", I found it. My bad.

OK. Since I can't edit my above post (as it's been more than 30 minutes), I'll update my update here. There's a difference when I click on the "Tips - Tricks - Frequently Ask Questions - Pachislo" forum, vs. clicking on the FAQ at the top of the page. I just re-checked the forum listings (that I'd read beforehand) and there isn't anything about coin conversions being dissuaded posted there. The only thing that's there is a post by arbycoffee about legal issues involved when converting from tokens to coins. There isn't anything like what I found when I did a search on the FAQ at the top of the page; that's when I found Tulsa's clearly delineated position. Has Tulsa's entry always been there (in the faq/search), or was it just added? And will it eventually make it to a sticky on the above-mentioned forum? Again, just trying to clarify this important issue.

Skay, let it go. It's not that important. Most people agree this is a ridiculous modification to make whether or not it's illegal in their particular state anyway. Not sure what's got in your crawl on this issue but it is what it is and it's not going to change.

What's got my craw is if that's your position, just state it clearly up front so there won't be any confusion. Obviously, if Davis is finding a 50/50 interest, then your position that "most people agree this is a ridiculous modification" is merely a reflection of most people who think like and/or agree with you. And that doesn't even address the fact that you allow a post IN the FAQ to discuss the matter of coin conversion WITHOUT stating clearly that as far as you and this site is concerend, it's an off limits topic. Finally, as far as letting it go, consider it let go as far as I'm concerned.

But with regard to your "ambassadorship" regarding newbies to this hobby, well....we'll just let that go as well.

When I got my first Pachislo I thought it would be fun to convert it to quarters, even had a friend come by with the little doohickey to do just that. Then it dawned on me just how much money would be tied up just to play it.

Nope, no quarter conversions for me! You'd be amazed how many nickles there are in just two antiques!

Well i for one am glad that Tulsa lets me into his living room its good to have a place where you can get together with total strangers and be able to chat, talk and sometimes just be silly (though i do admit that sometimes i am too silly). it's nice to be able to do all this with people from different backgrounds, different ages and from different places etc.. this is one of the great wonders of the internet... i havent been much of a forum frequenter before, untill i came across Pachitalk about a month ago.. and I find that since then a day without pachitalk just isnt a good day.. glad to have a place here..
