I wonder if TA even checked it out before sending it ?

I would e-mail and have them call you on their dime, and have carl walk you thru checking things out.
than if it doesn't work, they can send a call tag to pick it up.

If they won't, do a charge back on your credit card, that would get them in action.

It is hard to walk you thru the checking of things thru e-mail or posting, because you don't know allot yet about it.

AND it is THEIR responsibility to fix or replace it.

Don't tell curt I said this, because he go into a tyranting about I be a Asz Holey.

Just because I believe you should get what you pay for.

44 posts! We are desparate to get this thing running for you! Nothing much sadder than a Pachi that won't shoot!

So I guess his dongle dosen't have the cover. I see where the 'male' pin thing was coming from.

Thanks again to everyone! I called Kurt at texas auctions and he said he had mailed out a new dongle this morning and I would have it in two days. I checked with him and there is a dongle on the machine and he said to take the old on off and put the new one on. I asked him hoe to take the old one off and he said it would just slip off and the new one would slip on. I tried while I had him on the phone and the damn thing would not budge. Curt said he would have technical support call later. A few minutes later my friend called and I remembered something and I said don't you have a Master's in electrical engineering. So he said he would come over on his to work and take a look.

So Chris comes over and I give him a rundown and he reads over his post to see what you people thought and then he instantly points out the dongle and then checks all the rest of the connections and gives the machine a once over and it all seems fine expect the ball shooter won't work. He tries to remove the dongle and it's screwed in so he unscrews it and it still won't budge. Then he notices that the dongle has been crazy glued to the plastic case that it attaches to above the dongle, the L shaped one so he tries some acetone on special q-tips and a cold spray but the dongle and casing were "slathered" in crazy glue and he doesn't want to break the casing. He worked on that for a good half hour. So we call Kurt back.

Also my friend was pissed that someone would crazy glue the dongle like that. So we get Curt on the phone and my friend talks to him and Curt says that he guareentees that I will end with a working machine. My friend then was able to detach the L shaped plastic casing that the dongle was attached to that has some wires and a small circut board attached. So we call back Kurt and my friend spoke to him and read off some numbers from the casing and said if you can send us another L shaped casing part it would be easier than sending the whole machine back and forth. Curt said that yellow cab was too new and he didn't have the spare part, Then I spoke to him and he said the he would send a shipping tag so Fedex could pick the machine back up because direct quote forthcoming "these machines cost him $175 apiece and needs the whole thing back" no problem as long as it's on his dime!!! To be honest Curt was very helpful and polite and seems more than willing to make sure I have a working machine. I am also sure that being a patchitalk member and having a electrical engineer call him repeatedly didn't hurt as well. Once again much thanks to all who treid to assist myself I honestly really appreciate the effort that board members expended on my behalf. Andrew

I have a friend that just dealt with Curt and TA and found the same good service.

With the competition heating up because of the high prices Pachinkos are getting now, it is going to require better service in order to stay in business.

Yeah Kinda, I really don't think I did anything wrong my friend thinks that using that much crazy glue might have shorted something out and he talked about a pn-junction anyway crazyglueing it like that makes it very difficult to troubleshoot. Curt said more than once "I checked out that machine myself" but as long as I get a machine that works I'll be happy. but it shouldn't be that difficult and we checked the machine over for two and half hours and kept going over the setup your pachinko machine instructions that I downloaded from this board and that came with the machine before I posted my first message for help. However, if it had been checked prior to shipping and some moron didn't crazy glue the freakin' dongle this wouldn't be an issue and even if it had, it would have been an easy fix. Instead we have to have machines shipped back and forth across the country because heads seem to be firmly planted where it don't smell so good.

I see... so the dongle isn't the ONLY thing firmly planted, then. GOTCHA!!!

Is anyone considering the machine was checked out, the dongle THEN glued in place since it was working and the glue subsequently shorted something out? I gotta be neural, I have seen stranger things happen. Like Azteca's jumping to their death.

    Is super glue a conductor?

Everyone if your planning on permanently attaching your dongle, simply use the screws to affix the dongle to the pachinko. While it can be undone if necessary, as a general rule the screws will not undo themselves and it will stay fastened throughout eternity.
