New Yellow Cab will not shoot balls, HELP!!!

Does it make a clunking sound when you turn the handle? If there's a sound, it's trying to shoot and something may be jammed. If there's no sound, my monies on a missing dongle key.

Do you have one of these anywhere on the back of your machine? It is a dongle!

There is no sound when you turn the ball handle and no resistance eithier, Where would the dongle be located? Their is what looks like the male end of a connector on the lower right of the machine. under the five red lights. but there is no female part and there was nothing left in the packaging I checked several times.

I think were having a 'male/female' issue here.



Upper right 25-pin male
Middle right 25-pin female

All the machines I have have the female connector on the machine and need a male dongle (that sounds rude, don't it?).

If everything else is working properly (video/light/sounds do their thing when a ball is dropped thru a pocket) and all connectors around the shooter stepper motor are connected, the only thing I can think of you need a dongle.

All these parts should be available from Radio Shack. Of course, TA owes you one, but if you don't want to wait, make one.

The connector under the five red lights on the lower right of the back of the machine has the pins protuding out so I assume it is the male piece? Do I need a female piece? and once I attach a female part to the protuding pins then what? Thanks again everyone for your help. I have been trying to sort this out for the last 17hours and I am so tired and angry and confused I can't see straight

Male pins? that's a new one on me. Check with TA and see what they have to say. If you make one then I suppose you'll need the female 25-pin and other parts to make a dongle. once it's plugged in, the machine will think a card reader (parlor piece, not needed for home use) is plugged in and should work.

If you look at the dongle pics diskdevil posted the dongles are female!!!

So the machine pins would be male!!!!

I guess the best you can do for now is call TA in the morning and find out if the machine requires a dongle and can they send one

or try whatever the tech says to do .

I just saw a post obout Yellow cab, try sending a PM to grahamricho and ask if his has a dongle.

If you don't have the CR Bypass (dongle) it could be by passed on the computer board.
is all the conectors pulgged in on the back of the machine ? Around the back of the shooter check good.
open lower shooter door, open window first and push down the metal slide in right hand corner and the door will open. put a ball in the chromn grove in front of the shooter. turn the shooter with the door open and see what happens.

Thanks Arby, My machine seems to open in the front in three pieces. the top covers the playing field, the middle section opens and shows the ball feeder tray and in back of that a platic square looking piece with an opening where a ball sits. and the bottom partion which I think covers the ball lauching device. does the bottom section open? and if so how? drop a ball in the troff of the shooter and turn the knob and see what you get

I just got a email from curt at texas auctions and he seemed to think it was a problem with the card reader adaptor. which he said he personally checked a few minutes before packing the machine. Is the Card reader adapter the same as a dongle? If so where is it? I think I'm going in circles here and the CR adapter is missing and that's why the ball shooter does not work.

a dongle is a card reader adapter,

it may have fallen off and be stuck somewhere else in the pachinko.
or they never shipped one.

Just got another email from curt at texas auction and he said he would send out a CR adaptor/dongle first thing tommorow and a panduit strap to secure it. What is a panduit strap? Anyway mentioning that I am a patchitalk member seems to work wonders.

I guess we need someone with a Yellow Cab to take a pic of the back of the machine, and point out where this dongle is located.
Check on this male/female thing, too! I've certainly never seen a female dongle!

SO, ajc... does this connector you're talking about look any of the ones that compirate posted for you? If so, which one?

Thanks!!! Mine looks just like the picture above expect instead of the grey dongle in the picture mine has a silver part facing downward with pins sticking out. a wire loop to the right hand side and unerneath a very tiny blue part and a blue part about the size of a pea

I opened the front two sections and dropped in a ball in the chrome ramp on top of the shooter and turned the knob and nothing, there is a small retectangular piece of plastic on top of the shooter with a small opening in which sits one ball but when I turn the handle nothing happens
