BABEL - Volume Control Potentiometer

I found this one in my junk drawers.
It's a 3 channel, 15 watt, 50 ohm,
Rotary (clicks when turned), w/ Click ON/OFF.

Perfect for BABEL because of
2 speakers on top and 1 speaker at the bottom.

Bad news though; the wafer in the middle pot has
crumbled to peices due to age, otherwise it works fine.

I have searched for about 3 hours and can't seem to
find another one... Anyone have any ideas?

Why don't you try using the search function at the top of the page.
There have been numerous posts about volume controls for various machines.

That has been done kind sir thanks
but out of the 355 for volume and 8 for potentiometer
I could find no info to handle 3 speakers.

I really don't want 2 or even 3 knobs sticking out of my machine.
1 is bad enough; but the one in the picture above has the option
for 3 seperate channels plus an off option plus the long shaft.
After finding it in my junk box it is now a mission....

I have been using the search here alot and I would recommend it
to all for finding information. It is rare to find one that really works.

Most people you will find won't tie in the top and bottom speakers on their machines because they are of different types most of the time. Like for instance on the King Camel, the top speakers are tweeters,and the bottom one a woofer type. I hope this helps some.

My BABEL has 3 full range but I remember reading a thread about different
types of speakers like you mentioned for KING CAMEL ( #4 on my wish list )

I might just try the tweeter and woofer thing later today just to hear how
she sounds.

Ya know the type of place where there are thousands
of parts bins on tons of shelves and all you do is wonder
up and down the isle's filling a small basket.

Every town has one and usually the local Radio Shack guys
know where these places are.

First I would snag the 2 pic's print them and go on a field
trip. The guys at these places may seem unaprochable
but they are usually very friendly so just show them the
picture...

I paid $4.00 puls tax and bought five but they had plenty.
If I were to mail them I am guessing 2 bucs in postage
for 2 maybe 3 units...

Let me know what ya wanna do. or any one for that matter.

OK it's finished.......

Been testing it for a few days just to make sure there was no overheating
on the PCB. The pot's were not the best thing to use electroniclly speaking
but ya gatto do what ya gotta do.

all thats left is to find a chrome knob to replace the black one.
