BABEL - Poor Man's Auto Credit

First off Don't Laugh It Works.......An no Soldering or Electronics Needed.

Everyone is wanting an Auto Credit option and I can understand the reasoning
behind this. I have become tired of having to open the door and get more tokens.

But part of owning the Pashislo is the fun of actually putting the tokens in the
slot and hearing the sound and seeing the lights.
If you mod the unit to be push button Auto Credit you loose this ambieance.
Most of the machines I have seen, the below mod is an option.

These are just guide lines and not recommended if ya still have a warranty.....
If you have a DEGREE IN ROCKET SCIENCE -- DO NOT ATTEMPT THIS -- you'll screw it up.

USE AT YOUR OWN RISK

001 - Line up a vertical line from the token entry shoot to the token return shoot.
Mine were marked with a silver sharpie.
002 - Token entry shoot from the top.
003 - Screw that holds the token entry shoot.
004 - Top of token entry shoot with section cut away for token to fall thru.
005 - Top of token entry shoot with a piece of a carpenters pencil tacked in place with super glue or gule gun.
006 - Front of token entry shoot. I used the wood pencil because I didn't have to get up to
find anything else but mainly when the token hit it, it provides enough bounce to knock the
token back into the open slot.
007 - Token Return Shoot with cut out large enough for a token to fall thru in any direction.
008 - Paper towel tube cut to fit and wedged in between the entry and return shoots.

If you have extra parts then you did it right. ;-)

Now you only have to open the door to refill hopper when you hit a BB or RB
and you still get the fun of putting the tokens in the slot.

And the best part is that the Mod can be reversed back to an almost original condition.

isnt it easier to just put a dpdt switch in line with the hopper and power the hopper to deliver tokens to the tray on command ? its just as reversable and accually desirable .....and you dont have to open the door for anything but a reset if the hopper runs out .

Yes you are right a Double Pull Double Throw s/w will work just fine.
I had my Cash Out Button wired to a relay and presto chango tokens
galore... But after I got tired of the kids constently emptying the hopper
this was my solution.

Heck, I just buy more tokens. Don't have to open the door excdept on rare occasions.

My idea for "poor mans auto credit" is twofold. First, build a short 2.5-3" tall coin tray to sit underneath your pachislo. You now have two coin trays; hooray! Next, cut a piece of 2" conduit or get some PVC pipe and connect it up to the overflow chute in the token hopper. Route it down through the hole in the bottom of the pachislo so that when your hopper is full, extra tokens dispense into your lower tray.

Finally, buy tons of tokens -- enough to overflow your hopper so that you will always have spares coming out the bottom... unless shortly after a big bonus or something you run the hopper down. If you don't want to buy quite so many you can put some foam blocks covered with cardboard in your hopper to take up space so you don't have to have quite so many tokens --

No modificaon to the machine is necessary at all; it works with every machine; it's fairly inexpensive; and it's a nice aesthetic addition to your pachislo. You could also build a multi-machine tray that dispenses excess tokens to a central location.

I am torn between this idea and the DPDT-connected-to-button idea to make the hopper spit tokens. I don't like the idea of auto-credit mods but honestly they seem simplest! Anyone have exact wiring diagrams or instructions for the DPDT sytle hopper mod?

Zenon, I'm going to do this mod to my vintage ORIENTAL machine this weekend...can't wit to try it I ordered autoslot's auto stop/auto credit units for my other five modern pachislos, but for this vintage machine, I'd have to wire up a chip, solder it to my stop board and attach a bunch of wires to my machine...not something I'm ready to undertake.

It allows you to play with the same handful of tokens over and over, so you get the fun of putting in tokens, but not the hassle of continually having to open the door and retrieve tokens from inside the machine to play with. Great for those of us who don't have 1,000's of tokens in each of our machines.

I was working on a setup like that on my old sea adventure when after the coin passes the sensor it falls onto the bent/reject coin slot somehow but I couldn't cut the beer can into quite the correct shape from where the nearest screw was.

Sometimes it was doing it by itself so I know it would work.

Here's the problem "cut the beer can " after a few intentional mistakes (to have a reason to drink more beer) the real mistakes tend to get even worse .
