Default Star Wars arrives and thrives!

Yesterday, the Star Wars / Star Blazers pachinko arrived that I got from Arby.

His usual PERFECT packing job, and spotless cells, case, and balls!
    Magnificent!!!

Of course, the WHITE SANKYO case was there... nothing else would be right for this machine, IMO. Pictures don't do this justice. With the lights around it, and multi-color LEDs laced within them, it's just stunning. Ashtray was covered, and it was obviously from a non-smoking section.

As much as I've looked at that pic of this machine (both in real time and in dreams), I never realized that this cell is so much bigger than the other Sankyos I have. That's a good thing, because the LCD is huge, too. Something like 10" diagonal? WOW! Sharp and crystal clear video. Definitely Hi-Def.

But the large LCD doesn't really distract that much from the play, even though it's so big. With the animatronic R2D2 on the right side (very active!), this is a left side (west) play cell. And there are a lot of balls that find their way into that area in front of the LCD, via a side-entry, and start looking for the short-cut to the start gate.

BUT.. the big difference on this is the dual start gates. One in the usual center bottom position, but it also has one at the top! So firing hard isn't just a wasted shot. I find myself adjusting between the top and bottom targets already, so aiming does come into play for me. That's good!
Even when you go for the top start gate, overshots (wasted) are rare.

The cell is wider than what we're used to, also. Overall... about two inches larger top to bottom, and about an inch or so larger in width. It just brings you right into the game!

Light patterns and colors are everything my high hopes expected, and then some. So are the videos and reach sequences.
And once again, Arby's TLC with this machine was everything I'd hoped for, too. None better to buy this machine from... PERIOD!

We saw our first fever on it last night, as my daughter played it. I kept the hopper filled for her (this is standard parlor play), so that we could see all of the 15 scenes of the fever. On Arby's pre-advice... as soon as it went into fever we turned up the volume.
    OMG!!! The sound was AWESOME!!!

I was a good boy today, and went to work... even though this wonderful new toy called to me. But you can bet as soon as I got home, it was flying again! Another fever within 500 or so shots... then a lot of reaches and teases. You could just tell that it wanted to unload again the way it was teasing. Finally, after another 500 or so shots... another fever!

I grabbed the camera to try and catch it coming OUT of the fever round for you all. Yoda is the last display (Round 15). Mind you, I was tired from a day's work, and the better part of two fevers already, not to mention the adreneline rush... so excuse the shakeys on the video, please.

But to my complete surprise... right after this fever... it went right into a battle mode. Time to shoot some tie-fighters! No sooner than they appeared... DARTH VADER wanted a piece of me! BRING IT ON, DV!!

Now the video was being shot with my left hand (not natural to me), with right hand on the shooting control firing balls. When Darth appeared, the CHANCE button lit up, and it became the control to fire laser shots at his craft. Left hand on the camera, right hand attacking. I thought I didn't have a prayer, for sure.
But you can see for yourself.
    HERE'S THE VIDEO LINK

This is one ass-kicking pachinko! This weekend, I hope to get that Star Blazers cell into it, and give it a workout, too. It should be easy, since Arby included a book with complete instructions on how to interchange the cells.

    Hang in there, lego...

If it's being that stingy now, it will probably go WILD when it does give up the booty. That seems to be the way it goes with these machines sometimes.

Because of way this poured out it's soul to me at first, I'm probably due for a long dry spell.

You've at least seen a lot of the reaches and teases, right?
When they start happening very often... get ready to RUMBLE!!! :lmao:

Try a hard reset, that will clear the memory out. Like having a virgin machine.

I just recieved mine yesterday and instead of rewriting everything that Logic said about this machine, I have to give it a huge

OH MY GAWD!!! THIS MACHINE ROCKS!!!

I haven't hit a fever as of yet either but it has teased me constantly, My teenage daughter (who says "Dad I don't care about Star Wars") would not let me near the machine for hours last nite.

If have a chance to pick one of these up I highly recommend that you don't listen to that inner voice that says "You need that money for bills, so don't do it." Just smack it down and go for the pachinko instead.

This is my personal opinion, or of the voices in my head, and are not meant to reflect the opinion of this board.
