Default Wow....1370 Pachislo's seized in Fl!

Wow I found this by accident....click on the link and scroll down...I had no idea Pachislo machines are against the law in some states even with token operation---

    http://www.mbi-police.org/year/highlight04.html

    From the site--

Gambling slot machines began to appear in Central Florida in 2004 and the Vice/Organized Crime Section sought out the Florida distributor and sellers of the gambling machines, called Pachislo slot machines. Agents served a search warrant at a Fashion Square Mall business called, “Lots of Slots” and seized 56 illegal slot machines. The agents then determined that the distributor who was providing the slot machines was an import business in Volusia County. Working with the Florida Department of Law Enforcement and U. S. Customs & Border Protection, agents were able to stop the delivery of 1370 Pachislo slot machines from being distributed in the State of Florida. At this point it appears that distributors of slot machines are now more aware of Florida law and are not selling the gambling devices within the state.

Just think if some titles such as Spin Luck are just sitting in a warehouse somewhere waiting for disposal?

If you look at the date, it is 2004.

I think the place must have been using them for gambling. or converting them to quarters for customers. When they are sold here the buyer must sign a paper that states they are using them for home entertainment only.

also the wholesaler could be converting them to quarters too, which makes them illegal.

Oh I noticed the date....but it didn't say anything about quarter operation in the article....but you could be right. I would just have to wonder what "lot's of slots" was thinking if they did convert the machines....especially trying to sell them in a mall, that's just stupid.

I thought that Pachinko Pallace operates out of Florida as well.

Either they were quarter machines or they changed the law....

Fun sells out of Florida, I think they may be a branch of PP.

Pachislo are legal in Florida if token only and home use.

Regular slots have to be over 25 years old.

Fun operates out of Texas. I don't think Eric would have anything to do with those people. Eric's mom does sell out of the Festival Fleamarket down in Pompano but from what I saw when I stopped there once she can't be selling a lot because of the prices.Dragon dice $600, spinluck$1200,hanabi $275 etc.

There was a stand at Daytona Beach Flea market when I was there last month. I also found a website of an importer in Daytona, but I lost it.
