Awesome! My "no pictures" guy certainly wasn't there for this visit! But I'm pretty positive those "1920's" machines are actually shortly post-WWII; if the photo showed 3" above there would be confirmation--they're neatly labeled like the rest. My only similar machine was brought to the US by 1952. There's one very early machine (pre-standard gauge) at the museum...but you can't see it in these photos...and it had to survive the reuse of available metal for the war effort, which makes it the rarest type of all. I was sorely tempted to sneak a photo of that one, but after all this was polite Japan and it didn't seem right.
