Arby, you are exactly right, and all of this is why it is quite fair to me to charge $1000 + shipping for a machine that (I'm sure not in the same condition) seemed to sell for $100 on YJ (but I think some of those vendors cancel their sales...not completely sure!)

I know it, you know it, and everyone else should know it: premium service (like yours) obtains (sometimes) a premium price! And even the "premium price" isn't premium to you after your costs, time, and dedication! That's why no one does what you do, and why I appreciate you so much...without you who could I call to get what you get?

At the same time, there is certainly a market for container-shipped machines of variable quality-what you can get for $200 including shipping can be amazing in its own way!

Because I am a pachinko fanatic, I am ecstatic over the Fireworks! It's awesome, the machine is gorgeous, and I'm pretty darn sure we won't see it on a container soon (all Japanese!) You delivered EXACTLY what I wanted in PERFECT condition and IMMEDIATELY!

I promise I'll never again mention machine titles or YJ prices again!

I just wanted all to know that I am the happiest when the first machines sell big...and I just wanted the later ones to help subsidize your excellence as well, Arby! Thanks!

Hello Tulsa, Maybe if you put "The Seller" Instead of "You and Your" I wouldnt Read you post as somewhat offensive. I have only tried to sell 2 machines Myself and started them at higher prices ( Less that they are going for now ) but they didnt sell. I would not personally pull an auction, I have let stuff go for a loss. As for making some money on shipping to help defray costs of ebay/paypal fees etc. I see nothing wrong with this, as long as its within reason. I personally charge exact shipping on Tokens sold. I think the last 2 sets I sold I made a net profit of 7 Dollara total on both and gave away free trays with them. I sell alot on ebay and do what works for me but never feel slimy. I am not always agreeing fully with what some sellers do but do see where they are coming from. Mike : )

Sounds like a personal problem that you need to get over, to me.

Fireworks did--the day I ordered it from Arby! Star Wars on Slotier is around $400 now http://www.slotier.com/p_com/p_list/...tarwars_zf.htm I don't trust Yahoo as actually completing all the sales, but since Arby says profit can be had, they must be happening. But even if a machine is $0 on YJ, Arby laid out the costs accurately...an importer using EMS would have to charge at least $600 just to break even on cash costs on a hypothetical $0 machine, then you add your labor, risk, etc...and you see why I was sad to see Spiderman Neo at only around $400 on eBay. If the collectors don't ante up, no dealers would risk EMSsing machines given the out of pocket costs.

When a container shipped Star Wars sells for $1000, there's some profit to be had. When an EMS shipped Star Wars sells for $1000, there isn't much.

Not many in the US would ever care about Fireworks, and that's why I was ecstatic to get it from Arby! He made a fair profit, and every aspect of the transaction was outstanding...and I knew I could trust the price as fair. Now we all know exactly why!

I see nothing wrong with it either. As long as uh, someone, tells them what they are paying for. Is this what um, someone, is doing? If not then er, someone, is being dishonest.
Cheating a little bit dosent make mmmm, Someone, less dishonest.
People may understand the cost of UPS or FedEx shipping & be willing to pay it. But if uh, someone, were to be honest about it & tell the buyer, " by the way, uh...WE, didnt make as much as WE wanted so WE are going to charge YOU extra for shipping to make it up!" you might have a problem making the sale.
Just because, er...Someone, didnt deal with the buyer with the integrity that Someone could or should have & got away with it dosent make it OK.
Frankly, Someone, who cant see or understand that is lacking integrity & has a chromosome or two missing.
    Just my O...!

When I'm bidding on Ebay, shipping costs are the first thing i look at, if it's too high i don't bid.

When I'm selling on Ebay I try to keep shipping cost down, sometimes I make a little on shipping, other times I may lose some.

If i factored in padded mailers, tape, labor and fuel. I'm losing money on shipping.

It's all part of doing business.

Hello, For me Losing money or even coming close to breaking even is not part of a profitably business. I am not just a person getting rid of stuff out of my Garage or anything. My current store has been in Cleveland, Ohio for more than a decade and I have been Involved in the Video Game Business for 20 years. I know I cannot expect Immediate full trust here that I have acheived in the Gaming community but if you were to become a customer of mine I am quite sure you would be happy.

DooDude I appreciate how you phrased your Post. Any auctions I put up items are clearly stated and shipping is as well. If a person does not agree with any posted shipping amount they do not have to bid : )

I bought an item for my son from VGC and everything was as promised!

I've bought from Stealth, Valley, American Syscom, SlotUSA, etc...I am informed though and even though people said STAY AWAY from Valley, I did it anyways!

Eventhough people said SlotUSA is okay, but slow shipping and machine is only so so clean with a few blemishes. I did it anyways.

That is why we are here! To make a better place for us to shop and enjoy this hobby. You become INFORMED. I agree, ridicoulous advertising is bad. But paying too much is bad too. Many times I just want to email the higher bidder on a PP auction and say! You can buy it direct from XYZ for $$$ less! But I don't and just wait for them to find Pachitalk and learn for the next purchase.

I have made three purchases from VGC and I have really gotten more than I asked for. I trust him and believe he is a great asset around here. If not for VGC, I would not have my SBJ machine! He will continue to get my business!
