Therefore change the name and possible change the outcome of the end auction price. I'd do the same if I wasnt making the cash I wanted.
No, this line kinda made you sound bad.

Now about your out of control comment about me. Friendly advice, don't go there again.

VGC, I read doodude's as a general term. Not towards anyone specific.

It is just a general term, Mike.
Just because someone says they are this or that dosent mean anything except thats how THEY see themselves.
Everyone has heard the old saying. "Actions speak louder than words."

    I'll probably regret this.

I search for pachinko machines on eBay by typing "Pachinko" in the search box. If the seller has "Pachinko" in the listing title, I find it. Not a lot of machines, so it takes, oh, 1 minute a day to look at them. Sellers post pictures, so if a machine is called Super Happy Pink Flower Thingie Pachinko and I can't tell by the thumbnail I click.

Sometimes I do chuckle. And I'm sure I made fun of this too! I've done what I could to help everyone figure out the real name, if so inclined. But I don't begrudge a seller making up a name. And the author of this thread (whom I greatly appreciate; review coming soon of a great Fireworks from the man himself!) "renamed" Spider-Man Neo (only in the listing title, though) to Spider Man II (in this case so folks could tell it wasn't the 2002 Takao machine, which actually wasn't the first Spiderman themed machine itself I believe, but is the only other one someone would find on eBay). I knew what it was. The fantastic ad SHOWED what it was! The ad is so good that I HATE THAT AD (just kidding...any desires it created are my responsibility!) I certainly wouldn't want the accuracy police pulling his listing, which in no way misrepresented anything!

Actually, the more "creative" renamings probably lower the sales price in many cases, as someone who has heard of one machine and searches for it may not find it at all, or may skip the listing. There are only two vendors that really show much about a machine: TA (so I couldn't care less what they call them) and Arby (mostly through the videos posted in the museum here). Other than that there's just a picture. So if TA gets creative I balance that with the fact that they actually take the trouble to post all the pictures they do, do a little theme research at times, etc. Every other pachinko seller does 1-3 pictures, but I know what they are from the Japanese museum, and lately your new museum here has made this more convenient.

I picked up a pachinko from Syscom last week, and they told me pachinko sales were...slow. Arby didn't even get his reserve on the second Spiderman Neo, which IMO sucks.

I must say if a listing was ended early on me I would hesitate to bid again from that seller, but that hasn't happened to me yet. I think this will be infrequent; that's a certain way to miff a bunch of buyers at once!

Maybe I'm tolerant because I've gotten amazing deals from both TA and SlotUSA...heck, the worse the listing, the better the deal early on! And maybe it's because 5 minutes of internet research would make obvious what machine is being sold by the picture. And maybe I figure that this site might help (I think in some cases it already has).

But mostly I just want people to enjoy this hobby. I remember eBay feedback I read once on a vendor: "Fantastic, and much bigger than I thought!" or some such...many buyers have never seen a pachinko in person! Tulsa, I can't thank you enough for all the work you (and the other moderators) have put in to this site. I bought the Fireworks from Arby because it was one way of thanking him for his contributions here...and believe me let's not talk about Yahoo Japan ending prices for that machine. I gave what was asked, I'm happy, and that's it.

I'm sorry I don't have a functioning Video yet...I'm working on it. I'm sorry I didn't post a picture of me in the users forum...never really read the thread till yesterday. I don't write in the suggestion box because it's quite evident that you guys are working your tails off, and that's plenty good for me.

I've given a few things that it took me a while to work out because it interested me. I don't have anything to sell. But you guys have given time and treasure here, and I appreciate that.

But a new reader may not take the time to understand this if they encounter much negativity. I remember a bunch of flames from folks who lost auctions to real people...I've lost countless auctions (more than I've won, I'm sure), and I've learned that over the long haul that's a GOOD thing...losing means you didn't pay too much! Again, you guys can say anything you want, but I almost left before I arrived. Instead I chose to contribute a little, and I'll try to do more as my work allows. And if everyone did that, this forum will grow without the same folks (you guys) doing all the work...and right now, you all certainly deserve a vacation! It's awesome!

You've done a great thing. Relax, be happy, and let the users contribute. They won't give as much as you have, but if you're patient and positive they'll give.

And maybe I'm confusing that eBay review with something my wife said...ah, never mind.

Like CR Fireworks / Hanabi pachinko machine, what allot of people don't see and know is the shipping cost to get them here.

They are 3 day air services here, that cost runs on weight. CR Fireworks / Hanabi is the heaviest machine to date, $411 postage here and $34 postage in Japan to Kia.

His fees for the work and storage he does. He checks out the machine when he gets them. Cherry picks them.

After I get them, I go thru them, replacing loose nails with screws, adding an 8 amp Transformer, adding a ground plug and wiring it all up, adding a platform (No 1 pine for flatness, no box wood), new tempered Plexiglas two sheets (CR Fireworks / Hanabi is 16 1/2 square odd size). Buffing and full cleaning.

Ready to ship now, the box (cost here is around $20, you got to figure in the cost of freight getting the boxes here), almost every time it is over the girth 130 inches, I charge only the cost to ship and refund any overage. If they charge me the over girth cost I pay that ($40 to $70).

I have made some killer prices on ebay, but my markup runs in the $75 to $150 range, depending on what the title is and how hard it is to get.

Oh time! my time I didn't figure at all, or Paypals cut of the action, they get a cut sending money to japan about 5¢ on a buck and when the customer pays a bit again.

But this is all my concern, not the customer. He asks price you shoot him a figure and he buy or goes on.

We all know the shipping hells of UPS and Fedex and the rest of them, I am the one that has to carry that burden too! not the buyer, so I have in MOST cases a back up machine to reship out if the first one get crushed.

And other things people don’t know is I give machines away a lot, so rest a sured I won’t be getting rich. and this stock I got in & coming in will be less in the future, because of time. It is hard to stop a pipe line once you get it set up.

Aside from all the added stuff, the names that these machines get is funny or strange. We need a weird name of the week award.

Hello, Arby there is nothing wrong with making money. Especially considering your time and the way you Package your items. After reading some of the horror stories of eBay shipments, and praises on your machines, I am thinking of Buying my 1st Pachinko from you. Not to mention I just keep getting outbid on eBay anyway. They also starting Raising Prices on many of the models on my want list. Yeah, I think the horse has been beaten down here, I just feel I am once again expressing my opinion from a sellers point of view, not that I am that kind of seller but understand where they are coming from. I dont ship Pachislos, pick up only. I have only done 2 auctions: one 007, the other Original Terminator an both went unsold. Mike : )

If you're selling something on eBay and you want $XXX for it, put a reserve on it. That's what the reserve is for. If you don't like to use the reserve you take your chances it won't get as much as you are wanting. To pull the auction before it ends because you aren't getting enough is the sellers fault and it's a really slimy way to do business. To alter a name/description of an item that is misleading to try an gain more dollars is also slimy. To raise shipping rates to keep your prices low and your profit high falls into the incredibly slimy realm.

The tools are there from eBay so the seller can either get want he/she wants or keep the item, without having to stoop to slimy methods of selling.
