Between Joe at Slotusa and Curt at TA, they must have a lot of time on their hands. They cannot remain consistent within their own house, often giving different names to the same game in the same week on eBay.

That's why the new museum is so good for searching out all the aliases the game may carry.

I REALLY like the new museum search function!

Way to go Tulsa and David!!!

My guess is that a certain machine may have sold for less than they wanted. People can always look up a title and see what it sold for. Therefore change the name and possible change the outcome of the end auction price. I'd do the same if I wasnt making the cash I wanted.

So you're saying you'll happily misrepresent a product to gain a larger profit margin?

Aren't there some type of business laws against purposely misrepresenting a product to gain more money off of it. I thought i read in NY state business law that there was such a law but i may be mistaken?

Well if the pic of the item is there and its described properly Its not really misrepresented. I agree that Something like The NEW AQUA 9, The ones you've been waiting for was very bad. I am more of a Pachislo guy and am not really familiar with all correct names on the Pachinkos. i just know from Buying Pachislos. Take a fine Machine i call Ninja Warrior, AKA Nidaime Goeman Sanjo ( spelling ? ). I won a few of these on ebay Under the Name Worrior for $40-$60. I sure as hell would change the name if it were me. I am a Salesman myself Tulsa, but far from a bad person so dont make me out to be one. If you are unhappy and feel your hard work here on site goes unrecognized ( which I dont think it does, I have praised this site many times myself and even put a couple links on my website & appreciate mine here ) put a donate button on the site. i would gladly donate myself. Just dont ask for money like that other not worthy of being names crap site. I know you want to keep it a free site but at sometime ( seeming about now ) people may get stressed. Just think if every member just gave a quarter. You guys could all go out and get some Beer or Pepsi. Just my Thoughts. Mike : )

What gets me is calling a Batman a black wing, Oh yeah I'd be more interested in something I have never heard of over a cool super hero.

This is my personal opinion, or of the voices in my head, and are not meant to reflect the opinion of this board.

Yep...This is what is happening. I was 17 hours from winning a Little Mermaid (Aqua Nine) with a price of 154.00 +/- snipe. The auction was shut down and all bids cancelled. I think this is BS...and bad business practice! If you put an auction up at no reserve be willing to eat the cost if it don't go for what you want. There was plenty of time left for higher bids but, the seller wanted more.

Maybe we need to learn something here.

I have this 2003 Suzuki Aerio 4 dr sedan.

If I sell it, I think my ad will run like this:

For Sale 2003 Suzuki Blazing Warrior Luxury Sedan or perhaps I could offer it next week as a 2003 Suzuki Wonderful Paradise Happy Family Pleasure Car.

If that doesn't work, then I will offer it as a 2003 Suzuki Moon and Stars Inscrutable Adventure Craft!

It isnt really described properly if the names been changed is it?
This seems like itsmeant to confuse the buyer.
Im not saying anyone is a bad person. I dont know anyone well enough to make that claim.
But I think the practice of name changes, inadequate descriptions, poor pictures etc etc is just wrong.
I stay away from TA because of what I consider underhanded tactics, but Im sure as a "salesman" Curt feels justified in the things he does.
Ive mentioned before that I actually like Curt. But I wouldnt trust him as far as I could throw a slot machine.

Quite honestlty you could put up an Auction titled " The Best Damn Slot Machine ever created " if you wanted to. As long as you had a picture of the exact item up for auction, and didnt lie about any functions. Many of these machines dont even have American names on them to begin with. And yes I have had some Pachinko auctions get pulled from me winning them also. It bites, but the Seller does not have to let something go if they do not want to. If the auction completes then they do. Mike : )

You may change the name slightly, but I don't think you would mislead or mis represent an item you sold. I trust you as a good seller.

It just makes you think harder about whom you purchase from and what you are willing to accept. Some sellers I will pay more from others...well...it better be a good price.

I dont think the issue is what you can and cant do or what you can or cant get away with doing.
Making a claim to be the best is different than making a claim to be something else entirely, isnt it?
What am I missing here? Arent we talking about renaming a machine to make a buyer think its something else?

    A. I didn't make you out to be anything at all. It was your statement I was asking for clarification on. Hence the question mark at the end of the text.

    B. Don't go dragging your misconstrued thoughts of another thread into this one.

    C. I don't believe that calling a Japanese named machine by it's English translation is a misrepresentation.

    D. I truly hope you aren't selling things on eBay with any sort of misrepresentation of the item. If this were true I would be forced to remove your link as PachiTalk does not condone this type of activity and certainly will not promote it.

Tulsa you just a little outta control. I am a very respectable salesperson and do not misrepresent anything, I cant believe you even brought up removing my link.

This line kinda makes me sound bad " So you're saying you'll happily misrepresent a product to gain a larger profit margin? "

Answer I didnt think it was misrepresenting by having a Title change when the Pic & Description tell waht it is. As I said before I am not totally up on Pachinko titles and gave a Pachislo example with Nidaime Goemon Sanjo. Only Pachinkos i know are the Ones i am trying to win and keep getting outbid on. I dont care if its called Sakura, Blooming Flower or Bloomin' Onion. After Looking into it I really dont think Apollo 1 or Apollo 13 matter. Type in apollo slot and youll find either, Same with fever King. I just really dont think a title matters all that much. The New Aqua 9 I stated was bad and even got me. Check my old post on that title.

Oh and you can check me out on ebay. If you think 1988 NOS Zelda Merchandise isnt rare let me know. Of course i try and make a buck, Its my job. I do however give Great Pricing and Service. I am just saying that in todays economy things are tough and the market isnt bearing what the seller is wanting or Needing in some instances. You'll see tactics like this and they may not always be morally correct. Trust me Tulsa I am one of the good guys. Mike : )

Mike, just because times are hard thats no excuse to use tactics that lack integrity.
Anyone can lable themselves anyway they want with any words they choose, but its their actions that define them.
