Does setting odds high make strange things happen?

I've got a Beast Sapp and set the odds to 6 as soon as I got it.

Played it for a few weeks and noticed that I never - ever - got three Melons coming up. The prizes were either Bells, Sapps, 7's or once I got 2 cherries.

Last night I set the odds to 4 and have noticed an improvement in the way the machine plays. Within a handful of spins the Melons came around and the whole machine seemed to give a better mix of videos and prizes than before.

So does setting a machine to 6 sometimes ruin the balance of gameplay?

Ruin, no. Alter, yes. On typical type A machines When you have the odds set high then you get a lot more little winnings and when you decrease your odds you are more likely to see some of the bigger winning hits. Now as far as enhanced video experience? I've never played that model so I can't say for sure.

I've been going to 4 whenever I do a reset.

4-5 for me. Guess I like them a little more giving. 6 was way too giving though.

Hmmmm, Maybe thats why I have gotten 3 BB already & Only 2 spins on my Spin Luck. I have all my machines set at 6, but once I get BB vids they will be reset to 3. Thanks, Mike : )

Since mine get the most play at parties, I have them all set to 6 to maximize the chance of a bonus. With a good crowd it's not uncommon to have 2 or 3 machines in bonus rounds at the same time. Plus a couple of other machines screaming out their alerts that they are out of tokens. It can get pretty loud.

I run mine on a 2, gives me a good mix of stuff, stops me from having to refill the hoppers.

Ok, now first of all, does decreaseing mean closer to six or closer to one?
My machine is just the plain jane type. no lcd or led screens. just 3 reels and thats it.

I have it on 6 so I can learn more about the machine. thing I have found is that I get about as much on 6 and 15 token payouts as I do with big bonuses. to me its kinda lame. I like few small payouts and BAM!!!! a very nice big bonus payout. the best I have done on this machine (Street cats) is 400 on a big bonus. and that was with getting a total of 19 pay outs without a jac-in....

Dunno if it has some kind of a bonus after bonus thing like SBJ ,SL, and HD or what, but with 500 tokens in a cup to start off with the level on 6 I run through about 450 before hitting a bonus, and thats including using the credits I get from winning. so in other words I go through about 6-700tokens before hitting a big bonus and getting on avg, about 360 payout. Thats not counting the endless replays I get. jeesh. on 100 spins I got a total of 43 replays. there are times I don't play it due to the replays popping up and that dang sound is in my head all gosh dang day.....
