Exclamation Need help with a broken Pioneer model

Several years ago I purchased a Pioneer model "Paradise Angels" and it was set to take quarters. Unfortunately, someone got a hold of some tokens used for my other four machines and inserted them in the quarter machine. It promptly stopped working.

It will take quarters, but it just runs them through to the bucket recepticle and in effect does not work. The machine lights up and all the fuses appear to be in working order. I suspect that the broken part is the coin accepter on the inside door of the machine, but I don't know.

I really like this machine - and I haven't seen one available in some time - so i would like to get it repaired.

Does anyone have any information on what I can do to repair it or know of a repair shop/person in the Atlanta area? I would really appreciate any help anyone could offer.

    Thanks!

The coin mod is quite a simple task. I am not sure how to do it on the Pioneers, but if the quarters are dropping then it has just reverted back to it's original status. It may be just a matter of adding a piece of tape in the right spot. You might look at the coin drop and see if a piece of tape has come loose. Some models are a screw adjustment. Wait for a few replys, because you will be able to do this yourself.

David - Thanks for the reply. I will wait for additional replies and attempt a fix on my own. However, just to state my case even more clearly....

The Pioneer Paradise Angel will accept quarters through the coin slot, but it doesn't work at all. It will also accept tokens, but it also doesn't work with them either. In both cases the coins/tokens just go through the machine into the coin recepticle. The machine does not acknowledge their insertion at all.

    Thanks.

It almost sounds like it could be in the middle of the reset process which would force the tokens back out into the front of the tray?

This site shows how the quarter mod can be done (and undone)... maybe this will help you fix things:

When you power up the machine do you hear the magnet on the coin mech click?
are the coins going into the Hopper? Are both the connectors pluged in?

I do not believe I hear the magnet connect.

I don't know if the connections are all in place.

Thank you "guys" for helping me figure this out. Last night I got the machine working again. Then I opened it up to empty the hopper and the error alarm went off. I can get it to go off and reset properly for only a second or two and then it starts up again.

Is this something that I'm just going to have to play with or have I got a bigger problem?
