Default Discovery launch - you pick the views!

Godspeed to Discovery and her crew!

    Bring us pride again, NASA!!!

In case you missed the launch this morning, this is an AWESOME site to see it.
Choose 3 of 11 cameras... you can even switch back and forth midstream... while listening to the commentary. Click on the video, then click on the camera you want to view!

Eventually, only one camera is active... the one on the fuel tank, and it will show the seperation of the shuttle just before it stops. At that point, those boys and girls are doing something around 17,000 mph!!! Wow!

Some amazing technology... right on your desktop.

That is incredible. I was in Florida in 85 when they did the first night time lauch of the Shuttle. 150 miles away it was clear as a bell. It was a beautiful launch!
    Meanwhile, somewhere in Oklahoma.

That was wonderful LP....... I still remember all the excitement (and skipping my college classes) when the shuttle went up the first time. When I was stationed at Sheppard Air Force Base in 83, one was piggy backed in on the back of 747. That was a pretty cool thing.
