Pegasus

I've opted for the more classic pachislo this time by purchasing a Pegasus:

I know this machine hasnt got rave reviews but I'm wanting something different and its currently being offered for cheap. I have a Don Chan (Cartoon theme), and a Beast Sapp (Realistic theme) so I've chosen a machine that just has a "classic feel" if this makes any sense?

Does the LCD display only turn on during RB / BB? Also I've been told it only displays a "picture"!? Surely this cant be right? Why have an LCD to display a picture when a picture could display a picture? lol

Any details about this machine would be appreciated. A video would be great too!

I don't think it's an LCD, I think it's a CRT.
They had a lot of these just laying around and designed the machine to use then up.
The machine will be top heavy, so be carefull opening the door.

When this machine started showing up on eBay a while back, one of the vendors (Stealth?) said that the screen on top isn't for video. There's a picture of a Pegasus in there that lights up from time to time.

It would be very dissapointing to find out that it's just a backlit picture of a horse! It does seem to be rather cheap for having such a large display. I guess I'll find out tommorow when it arrives. :indiffere

EDIT: I've just re-read the slotUSA info posted above. I quote: "This is a great western theme title made by Universal". LOL! When was the last time you seen John Wayne ride upon a horse with wings!? Somehow I don't think the information about this machine has been fully researched, so maybe you're correct with regards to the "display". hehe

Well I didn't want to be the bearer of bad news or anything. There could very well be a CRT in there, but I know I read a vendor description somewhere that said otherwise. I'm sure it'll be a cool feature, maybe it's set up to give the impression that his wings are moving or something like that.

If I'm wrong about this, it's just because I'm confused and not because I was trying to pee on your parade. I visit the State of Confusion once in a while.

It's a really sharp looking machine anyway. Have fun with it...

I don't remember the name, but Nethippy had a similar type model and said it had a CRT on top.

I have never seen one listed with anything showing on the top part.

It's made by Luster, the case looks just like Kiwame. Looks like there're strobe lights surrounding the screen. Neat-o.

Thanks Tee. Yeah, it seems as though the only pics that show the screen on, show the same Pegusus horse.

I've contacted the supplier and I've managed the stop the machine in it's tracks and I've exchanged it for a Doronjo, as I have a feeling the Pegasus machine would prove to be a dissapointment.

Best to stick with what you know.

I have a Dateline Pegasus that has the Hibiscus flower that comes up on the screen. The link states " ...also the version where the red hibiscus surfaces as a limited edition exists. ...only 1000 were made and they are very rare. " I have not seen the version where the white horse appears. It is a nice machine and it was my first. Frank A

On my machine it is a color picture of the Hibiscus that looks 3 dimensional. What is a CRT ?
