When did TA buy out Republic Industries?

Reason for asking is, my King Jack and Wai Wai Pulsar came from there. They still have the stickers on them.

I had managed to ignore the pink peanuts comment all morning.

Thank You all for the support, I talked to Curt prior to purchasing from his website. I do not think it was package bad, but you never know what happens during shipping. The main reason I put this post up is to hear from others if they get the same feeling while dealing with this guy. If he is a site member why don't he address some of the concerns we have. I would think us members do account for much of his sales.

There are a few different dealers that are members, and some that could be considered members, depending on your definition.
    Some participte... others lurk.
Some address concerns here openly... others don't.
I don't think TA has ever posted, but I could be wrong.

I likes me vendors who openly address problems, that tells me they got nothing to hide, and they are, to me at least, more trustworthy.

This is my personal opinion, or of the voices in my head, and are not meant to reflect the opinion of this board.

Most vendors spend most of their time reading. They will chime in only now and again. Some simply lurk and never post. TA is one of the latter. Of course my desire would be to see them all more proactive. When we offer a captive audience of best potential customers they've ever seen and they remain aloof, it perplexes me.

Maybe some of the vendors would like to sell to people who didn't know what they were buying.

But, we are a great customer base for all the vendors.

I'm not all that sure that TA (Curt) has been on long enough to really get a feel for what is being said. He might be missing a lot of the posts about him as it would take some time to find them.

Perhaps, he logs in, reads the posts under vendors about him specifically and logs off again?

Wish he'd get more involved as it would help him as well as assist the members here on the forum.

I would think that the more active a vendor is on the board the more comfortable members here might be buying from them.

Yes that's a correct assessment Rich. The more visible they are and available they are, the more business we are likely to give them, even if it costs more.

    ol-pachiman :

I am sorry to hear you bought direct from his website. Now your only recourse is with PayPal and hopefully you used a credit card on PayPal and not thru your checking account. I have found that the threat of credit card reversal will get PayPal moving to help you a little faster.

If Curt of TA is lurking and reading all these messages then he certainly knows now that his business will be in the long run= in trouble. All it takes is word of mouth.

If I were a vendor, I defiently would post on this site.

I would think that open and honest communication with such avid consumers / collectors would boost moral, customer relations, and sales !

Maybe he's too busy making Frankenstein Star Wars Machines. haha

Anyways, I wouldn't hesitate to buy from Arby just because of his reputation on the site, and comments from other members. I was very turned off by TA from the Star Wars conversations I posted in another thread. I've now bought 2 machines from slotusa, but I don't feel really "great" about them. The shipping is too slow, however the phone support is quick. They even called ME back. But, even the fact that I had to USE support indicates I had some issues. But, until we have other options, these are the big sellers.

I would like to let everyone know that Curt had worked many hours today resolving pick up problems with Fed-Ex. My wife called me at work and said Fed-Ex left the damaged Bunny Girl at the door and drove off today. When I got home the package was gone. This afternoon Curt called and told me everything was resolved and he refunded my money to my Pay-Pal account.

I must say my first purchase from Curt did not go as well as I would have liked but after all is said and done he did resolve the matter quickly.

Glad things got resolved to your satisfaction.
Hopefully TA and Curt will realize that good customer service is priority one.

I'm happy to hear that Curt resolved the matter in the manner you requested.

We must all remember that everyone has their good and bad days when it comes to human relations and business dealings. No matter what I have said about TA (both good & bad), Curt will usually do the right thing when it comes to resolving an issue over a game defect or damage. Often the ego thing makes its presence known and makes matters worse, but Curt will not take your money and run.
