Default Sankyo Max Centre Feature Broken

Hi, Whilst dismantling my Sankyo Max I found the center feature appears to be broken. The plastic ball catch appears to have cracked and separated. I am contemplating ways to heat the plastic to ease the pieces back into position then glue the joints. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

It looks to me that it was done intentionally...nice straight corner cuts and then flared out to make a sort of funnel to make sure the ball gets caught???

    I would agree with SibSr.

I'm thinking it came that way.
I've had other machines with similar pieces cut and bent, for it to accommodate for the pay pocket hole.
What if...the HOKEY POKEY, is what it's all about?

Gents, Thank you for the information. I do believe you are correct. I don't think the balls would ever cause such damage. Based on your feedback I checked the raceway the ball travels going into this feature and it is slightly shallower than the diameter of a ball. Thus the modification to allow ball to enter. Thank you very much. One less thing to repair.
