Pachislo LCD errors if you don't stop reel 1 first

I have a Samurai Spirits pachislo that is giving an unusual error. I'm not sure where to begin with this.
If you stop reel 2 or 3 first, the LCDs will both cut out (the upper LCD shows an !) and there is a buzzing error sound. Gameplay does not stop and everything continues normally. Once you start a new spin the screens come back. If you stop reel 1 first, then it doesn't matter if you stop reel 2 or 3 next, it will be fine. The buttons all work and stop the reels properly, it's just not tolerant of you not stopping reel 1 first. Any ideas?

It's got an Omron power supply W5EB-AM4B. I can't find anything on this particular model, but based on what I do see on their website and the further product code on this, I believe it is 24v 5a. I have it plugged into a 100v step down transformer. The behavior is the same if I have it plugged into 120v, however.

The pachislo was just shipped to me cross country, but it was in storage before that so it's quite possible this issue is not new. I reseated the connectors for the LCDs and the controls without effect.

Not sure if its the new one. But with a volt meter. just measure the output at the step down transformer. both during normal play and during this werid lock up. The readings should be the same.
It could be a fault with the stop board.

When the power drops, the screen is the first thing to stop working as that draws the most current.

I don't think it's a power issue, it sounds like it's telling you to stop the reels left to right. Left to right is the norm. If it wants you to do it in another order, it usually tells you in some way.

It doesn't seem normal. It totally breaks the immersion of the game.
When you stop reel 2 or 3 first it just does this (and makes a buzzing sound). Both the upper and lower LCDs go dark, except for the warning ! on the top LCD. Perhaps this is what happens when they lose power or signal by default.:

Can you give us a clear picture of the displays on the left? Specifically the characters next to the leds. Do they change when it errors?

Yes that's a typo. If you stop 2 or 3 first that happens. 1, 2, 3 is ok. 1, 3, 2 is ok. If you press 2 or 3 first it happens immediately with the button press.

The LED indicators on the left operate normally when it errors. The game continues to operate normally when it errors. The only indication of a problem is that the LCDs cut out and there is a momentary erroe buzz (through the speakers) when it first cuts out. You can continue playing and the monitors turn back on.

Wait. You're saying this constitutes an irregular press and that it's supposed to do that? That never occurred to me since the error isn't presented "in game" if you will and with no instruction.

I see. I figured many monitors will show some default logo if signal is lost, and the lower screen did totally cut out.

Ok, well that's a relief. I didn't know irregular press was a thing. This isn't like my other 3 pachislos (fever queen I, yaji-kita, LOTR). Thanks much for the help. It's a big relief.

Can be a bugger on newer machines in certain bonus modes.
