Default someone explain how this works

That’s just a cell someone converted to a “desktop” unit.

It doesn’t use pachinko balls at all anymore; just has an auto play controller so you can trigger reaches, Fever round, ect. Just a conversation piece basically to put on a desk/shelf and look at. Space is at a premium in Japan so full machines get desecrated for home decorations; better than getting recycled I guess?

I have brought some of these in the past and all the ones I had, I was able to convert back to working cels and put in machines.
Fuctions depend on the set up. But looks like, you have 2 switches. One pulses the start pocket input to mackes the reels spin. the second is connected via the voltage to the trap door, that starts a pule to the trap door sensor when the trap door is open. So it speed runs through the jackpot/fever. That one might have volume control due to the knob on it. You might also have buttons for the frame chance button.

As long as all the pocket sensors are still intact and just disconnected. its possible to resolder the wires and make it work if you have the original frame. Also it will probably have the power supply from the original frame to run it. So they can be a useful source of spare parts if someone connected a machine without a transformer.

the reason i asked is the text goes out of its way to mention the odds of jackpot, but i guess this is the alerts for the reel and not in any way related to a fever...

There is a theory that machines with high jackpot rates have more varied and longer reach videos.
