Default Not able to play on my pachislo

    Hi there,

I'm new to this website (just made an account a few weeks ago) and this is my first post.
I recently purchased a Silent Hill Pachislo from a seller on Ebay. Upon receiving it, i hooked it up to a step down/up converter and it booted up no problem. I made sure to read through the entire manual (had to use google translate, because it was all in Japanese) and I did the setup that it told me to do which was turning the settings key and setting up the payout and all of the that, to get it out of reset mode. The issue i am now running into is that i'm not able to play the dang thing! I checked all of the buttons and the sensor lights light up, so everything seems to be working correctly, checked all the wiring and made sure nothing was loose, and there were no error codes popping up during my inspection of everything. I am not sure if this machine is still a token operated one or not but just in case, i inserted the appropriate tokens and they just spat out the front into the coin payout bin. I also put a bunch of the tokens into the hopper but that didn't do anything either. I will point out that even after doing the setup to get it out of reset mode, I am still getting the ready light on "insert credit". I can supply pics of any part of the machine and manual, just let me know. I also messaged the seller to see if they have any advice on what I could do, but i am waiting to hear back. Thanks.

Do you hear an audible click from the token mech when you switch it on?

Checked the wires on the outside of the token box and they seem okay but to get to the other ones, i'll need to actually get inside the box but the screws have a plastic cap on them? Not sure how to get to the screws?

Hard to describe. But when the machine is ready to play. It energises an electro magnet that pulls/pushes the black flap. So tokens roll through rather than fall out. If for testing you can hold it in the position and run tokens through it. You can do this out of the machine as you are bypassing the electromagnet.

Of course I should ask the question. Are you using the right size tokens? Did you get it in the US or from Japan. Has a previous owner modified it for currency rather than tokens.

Not sure what you are refering to... " little black plastic caps " but maybe you're talking about the little black plugs (male end) that push into a black (female) plug in. They are about 1/4" in diameter . Is that what you are thinking a screw might be under ?
Also what Drunkenclam kind of said, did you try using the other "alternative" instead of tokens ? Maybe it has been converted over. Is there a switch on the hopper that you might have changed ?

Okay well, i just realized that i'm a dummy. I guess I WAS using incorrect tokens. I could've sworn I was using the right ones, since they're what we use for our coin pusher machine. I guess the pachislot uses different ones? Luckily I found a slightly different token sitting around the house that I could use to test and it went into the machine just fine. I was driving myself crazy, trying to figure out what the heck was wrong with the machine. I just knew it was gonna be something so simple and it was! Thank you guys for your help!

25mm is standard. some use 30mm

Don't get the ones with cherries in the middle. They have a higher steel content and can be affected by the said electromagnet as mentioned above.
