Default 1970s pachinko model B in cabinet with Mods

I’d like to share a few tidbits about what I have learned over the past year developing my pachinko machine. Credits given to Matthew for the ball lift, Dan Welch for helping me through the cleaning and understanding of the mechanics of the pachinko machine, and my girlfriend’s uncle for designing the cabinet. I’ll begin by saying a clean pachinko machine was the first step to any of this process. The second step is to design and build a pachinko cabinet. This design is a standing design but can use a bar stool if necessary. I then added the elements of Matthews lift to create a more enjoyable pachinko experience. The motor is powered by a 12 volt adapter and triggered automatically by a NPN metal sensor with a solid state relay between the two. Everything else is just for aesthetics. If you have any questions feel free to ask.

My next idea for a project is to build a ball loan mechanism. I’ve seen the pachinko balls being put inside of a gum ball machine, but I think gum ball machines are expensive and I wanted to design one myself. The ball loan mechanism can be token operated input into an arduino processor that has an output to a DC motor. The DC motor controls the turning of a barrel shaped ball hopper with the top 1/4 or so open. The barrel makes one revolution and halfway through its revolution will release the balls downward allowing them to funnel out into an externally mounted tray. The token falls into a box and the ball barrel resets by filling once the barrel has opened back to the hopper. I think this would make a fun addition to the pachinko experience.
