    Smile Hello Pachinko People

Just registered today. Posting to introduce myself.

I was given a pachinko machine by my in-laws that they picked up for $5 for me somewhere (estate sale or thrift store, who knows) because I have a couple of pinball machines/arcade video games/jukebox etc. and they figure it would fit it. Pachinko was totally new to me (well, I knew they existed, but didn't know anything about them) so it just sat around for the better part of a year. Well, that and I figured it was incomplete because there was a bare metal shaft sticking out the front with nothing on it (would later learn that's a "finger rest").

Anyhow, about a month ago I pulled it out, blew (some of) the dirt off of it, and starting googling to try figuring out what I had. After a while, I had determined it's a Nishijin single-shot model that was converted to have an auto-feeding ball tray on the front. I'm now pretty sure it's circa 1969.

Been enjoying cleaning it up and getting it working. I've spent about $80 on 1000 pachinko balls, and another $80 in parts & supplies, and it's now (mostly) working and looking presentable.

I suppose I'll put more details... and pictures... in the "Vintage" sub-forum.

Welcome…I am new as well. I just purchased a Star Wars Series 3 Darth Vader. I’m in need of an English User Manual. Not sure if anyone can help.

Never heard of Shōchū before. But they have "Iichiko Saiten" at the Total Wine nearby, so I may have to get a bottle to celebrate when I'm done with this thing.

So you recommend it neat, or mixed with anything in particular?
