Babel Slot Machine

Hello, I have the opportunity to buy a Babel machine for $300 (Canadian). Please see the attached image. The lady is selling it on behalf of her father and knows nothing about the machine. I do know the lock has been drilled as the key is missing. I have four questions:
1) Is the Babel a decent machine and is there anything specific that should I look for, or be aware of?
2) I currently have a Pachislo, Yamasa, King Pulsar and was wondering which is the better; the Babel or the King Pulsar?
3) Can I open the door of the Babel without the key.
4) Is $300 (CAD) which is about $200 (USD) a reasonable price.

Pricing all depends on how dry your area is. Yes you can open it without a key, but its a bugger as you need to get your hand in the bottom of the machine. Also you lose the reset function. Might not be a problem as its drilled.

Haven't played any of those models so can't say.

For me. I would probably look about for a newer machine and spend a bit more money. Although UK prices are different. Unless it comes with 1000 tokens, then its probably worthwhile.

Thanks for the reply. I know very little about the slot machine world. I bought my first machine only a short while ago but I'm on the lookout to improve. To be honest, in my area of Canada, I don't see any newer machines on the second hand market. They are mostly dated, and are mostly Pachislo. Could you suggest some newer brands I could take a look at?

I'm not much help, but I do remember people on the forum seemed to like the Babel when they first came over here, but that was over 15 years ago!!

My azure/eleco machine with screen cost me 250 CAD, but this isnt unreasonable pricing for this. you might be able to haggle for cheaper but it depends. your likely to get newer machines if you go to japan and offer cash up front for decommissioned machines.
