    Default Big Bear's Special - 7/03/2005

Big Bear's special today is "The Animal King," for $150.00

Here is his opeing sentence about it: "The Animal King (Mojuoh) is the most underrated model of all the pachislo machines because of its Japanese title."

    Sounds very interesting!

I've played that machine and it is very nice one. Probably one of the best if you have kids. The problem is, you can get it for less than $100 on ebay right now. The only way to get a machine right now is via ebay or pick 3 quality machines from BigBear. Their 3 pack special is an excellent deal if you get 3 top machines.

I've played 90% of the machines he has and if I were buying right now I'd grab up any of the following in a 3 pack

    Beast Sapp
    Fire Drift
    Speed Racer
    King Camel
    Neo Magic Pulsar
    Rocky
Never play leap frog with a unicorn!

I see a lot of dealers on ebay have raised their starting bids to 99.99 or more.

You can't really blame them when some machines are selling for such low prices.

Obviously the market right now is pachinko. Pachislo is over-saturated.

    Question Re: Big Bear's Special - 7/03/2005

With so many ( pachislo dealers ) doing the same thing & not making squat, why doesnt someone ( look at you know who selling pachinkos & making a killing ) make the switch or at least add pachinkos to their stock in a serious way?
Insanity is doing the same thing over & over & expecting a different outcome.

You also have to factor in, they are good at selling slots and possibly not as savy with a pachinko machine when it comes time to repair one. Isn't it also best to stay with what you know you're good at too?

    Question Re: Big Bear's Special - 7/03/2005

Id say yes if its working for you. But from all I see they seem to be losing their shirts or are about to.
If sit on your past successes, success will pass you by!
( by the way, I just made that up! )

Im not saying they should get out of slots all together. Id just think someone would look at a successful venture & try to figure out how to grow into it.

I don't think they should get out of slots at all. Right now the market is a bit soft becuase of the season and the number of vendors selling slots. The number of vendors selling pachinkos is limited and making it appear to be larger than it is.

You let the market have over 300 pachinkos for sale at any given moment and you'll see the same effect you're seeing on slots right now.

I agree, Im not saying they should get out of slots. Sorry if I gave that impression.
What I am suggesting ( if it were me ) is if you know there is a slowdown, a soft spot or whatever youd like to call it, & it happens every year, regardless of the reason, & you have to start scrambling to make up for it, then why not diversify, so that the dreaded period of which we speak dosent have quite the same dreaded effect it seems to have.
Im sure it wouldnt be easy or cheap to expand. "I" dont even know if it would be worth it. But as just another Bozo on the bus, looking around at whats going on, it sure seems like it would be a smart move.
But what do I know? Ive got a big red afro & a red ball for a nose!

I heard the same thing from a local store manager, the market needs the next super cool tech thing to get a boost in the sales.
