    Default Reel light issue

Hello peeps, back with another question. I just replaced my old incandescent reel lights with LED's (24v #85). I tested each reel in and out of the cage (out of the machine) with a 24v power source, and each light lit up perfectly. So I put everything back together, installed the cage back into the machine, played the machine, and several lights, probably around 6 or so, are not lighting. So I tested the reel lights again with an independent 24v source by removing the wire harness and testing them in place, and they all lit up when tested, so the integrity of the wiring in the reel cage is intact, but either the wiring or the board it's plugged into is not functioning properly. Any thoughts?

Did the incandescent bulbs work where the new bulbs aren't??

Thank you for responding MrGneiss. I can't remember exactly which ones were working and which ones weren't. There was one that was actually missing, and various ones that were out, I didn't pay that much attention as I figured they were just missing/burnt-out, and I was going to replace them all with LEDs anyway.
Since I posted the original question yesterday, I dug into the wiring and the board. I unplugged the wire harness where it plugs into the board, and put my 24v probes on the small contacts on the wiring plug, and the bulbs all worked fine, but when I plug it back into the board and fire up the game, the same bulbs won't light, so I'm figuring it's the board, as the wiring and connections appear to be sound.
I'm not an electrical genius with computer boards, but does this sound like it is the board that is malfunctioning, I would guess that either the board works or it doesn't, would it just light some bulbs and not others? Also, it's not just one reel that has them out, there's some in all 3 reels.
I did read somewhere that LEDs have polarity to them, and if one doesn't work, pull it out of the socket and rotate it 180 degrees, plug it back in and it should work. I haven't tried this yet, it doesn't make sense to me, as they light up fine when I apply an external 24v source to them. Any insight is greatly appreciated, thanks!

I really have no idea what the problem would be.

But, my first suggestion would be to make sure the polarity is correct.

Is that a real thing with LEDs, polarity?

Okay, I'll crack it back open and rotate them, I just don't understand why they all worked when I put an external 24v current through the wiring harness, but not when it was hooked up to the machine and playing, but I'll take your word for it. If it works, I'll owe you a Guinness!!!

I owe you a Guiness!!! There were 7 out of the 24 bulbs that were out, I took everything apart, rotated the bulbs 180 degrees, put everything back together, and they all work! I'm very stoked, but not sure why there are no instructions when you buy these bulbs that they need to be plugged in a certain way to work. The bulbs and sockets should have only one way that you can plug them in to work right, would have saved me 3 weeks and a lot of work/aggravation, but live and learn, and thanks to you folks for all the advice!
Now it's back to converting my fluorescent tubes to LED strips. Still cannot locate the ballasts, I've got one last place to look, but is going to take some extensive disassembly. I have the 10 1/2" skinny fluorescent bulbs, about 1/4" diameter, maybe the ballasts for these are different, or do not require ballasts??? Not well versed with these bulbs, any input anyone?
    Thanks again,
    Youk
