    Default "Sammy" Machine

Just purchased this Pachinko. My first ever.

How can I go about finding more info on it? It's a "Sammy" Machine I believe but I don't know much beyond that. Are there manuals that can be found for these machines that have info? Is there any maintenance that should be done periodically for the machine? Thanks for any help.

    WELCOME!!!

Have you loaded the back tray with balls??

It looks to be one of the MANY games based on Hokuto no Ken (Fist of the North Star).. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fist_of_the_North_Star

Sammy brought out 7 versions of this one in 2 years, but I think I found yours from early 2011!!

This is exactly the type of info I was looking for thank you.

This machine does look very much like mine with the same probabilities listed so this is probably it!

Is there any regular maintenance that should be done on these machines? Also, how repairable are they? Are parts easily found or can the be worked on electronically?

I have not. With this machine the balls cycle constantly through the machine. Is this a setting or a modification that someone else has done? The Balls will shoot and be collected right back into the shooter area. In other works I have only about 50 balls in the machine but I can shoot them forever. They just keep cycling through.

That sounds like it's been converted to cyclic.. Which usually means some parts have been cut and modified.. Sometimes this can be undone with some plastic and hot glue if all the pieces are there..

Most maintenance for a modern pachi is usually just keeping it dusted Keeping dirt and stuff out of it so balls don't get stuck..

The only parts for pachis come from other machines.. But machines are pretty tough and can work for decades.. Pachis are intended to be used less than 4 years in a parlor then trashed or recycled..

The front glass and shooting mec can be opened and a lot of the plastic covers on the back can come off.
grab a few q tips, windex and a can of compressed air
everywhere a ball goes try to clean its path

always spray the q tip of cloth
    never spray the machine

otherwise make sure connections are tight and your balls are clean

So I got my first Jackpot! Numbers lined up and the machine went crazy! Super exciting until I realized the bonus tray was not counting any balls. Many were going in but the "Levels" were not advancing nor was I earning any balls from the top or any extra spins. The balls just went into the bonus tray and right out with no lights or advancing or anything.

Is this something that can be fixed? Is it typically and opto that reads the balls going into the bonus hole?

If I understand you correctly, it's either the connection to, or the sensor itself. You should be able to swap it out with another pocket sensor on the machine. Once you swap it, you can manually try the pocket to see if the sensor was the issue. You'll have to wait until another bonus to see if that fixed your bonus sensor.

If it was converted to cyclic operation like you mentioned; there’s no telling what else was modified when they did that. Cyclic means it does not payout balls at all. it just reuses wasted and winning balls. Going forward I’d avoid cyclic modified machines. “Stock” is best!

Can’t hurt to check that bonus sensor to see if whatever they did to it can be reversed! Maybe the sensor is just unplugged or something simple?
