    Default ANOTHER Computerized Vintage Pachinko

Another came up on Marketplace and I thought why not. It was fairly close to home, (only 20 minute drive) and the price was something I could live with.

It is a fully working machine and I was able to play it when I went to look at it. It is a little different setup than the last one I got, but works the same as far as the way you play and payouts.

Well, that looks familiar. Even the background is the same. Unfortunately my main board was fried and I had to convert it to a regular Pachinko style machine
The front button is now wired to give you an 8 ball payout whenever you want it.

Congratulations Wayne-Ooo, I'm envious. Guess I'll have to consider moving if I ever want to come across the wide variety of rare machines you keep finding in your neck of the woods.

I haven't decided what theme to go with for this one yet, so in the mean time I'm fixing some of the parts.

The seller didn't have the key for the coin box. The box has been pried on at the corners and is in rough shape. I guess from people trying to get into it.

I drilled the lock out to open the box. A whole $3.25 was inside. Anyway, Everything got cleaned, straightened, painted. Also, got a new lock.

Also, missing was the pendulum for the tilt mechanism. I used a plumb-bob, (I already had), shined it up and put a wire, (instead of string), to hang it.
    Works pretty good.

I think I've came up with a theme, but no design yet.

Meanwhile, I've been working on the cabinet. It is made out of particle board and has been wet.
The bottom is swollen and crumbling apart. Pieces of laminate are broken off. I decided to cut off the bad section and rebuild it. I had to cut off 5 1/2 inches around the bottom, to get to the part of the cabinet that hadn't been compromised by water damage.

I then built a new 2x4 frame and added 2 inch casters, this got me back the 5 1/2 inches that I cut off..

The front door was removed from its original frame and mounted into the cabinet with 4 L-brackets, in each corner, holding it in. To excess the inside you have to remove the back of the cabinet.
I wanted to excess the inside from the front and have the door hinge open. Which was fairly easy to do by removing the 4 L-brackets and adding a continuous hinge to the door. The problem was that the door would not open due to the playfield light mounted to the top of the cabinet.

I didn't want to remove the the light, so I decided to make it so it would swing up, out of the way of the door, by cutting a section and adding a hinge.

The lock had been removed and the hole was covered by tape. I added a new keyed lock to keep the door closed. The inside of the got got a fresh coat of new white paint.

Here are some photos of the newly designed cabinet.

I decided on a Road Runner & Wile E Coyote theme.

Here are some photos of the playfield design.

You know me, anything and everything Looney Tunes related gets my vote. Love it! Can't wait to see the completed product, knowing Wayne-Ooo's imagination, I'm sure there'll be more surprises.

I managed to get the playfield put back together.

I need to start putting the back together, but first I will need to relocate 2 of the solenoids that were attached to the case. (One to the top and the other to the bottom).
Now that the door opens, they need to be mounted to the back of the playfield and still be able to function correctly. Other than that it should go fairly quickly.

Excellent work as always. Especially like the "ACME" label next to the jackpot window, nice touch.
