Persona 4 speakers not working

Hello there everyone new to this but I recently got a persona 4 pachislo and I started to play it for a few hours it was all working fine but all of a sudden the speakers started to stop working first it was 3 of them then all of them stopped I’ve tried to solder the wires incase there was a bad connection or something but for some reason when I do it the volume is at the max and I can’t turn it down it I’m really nit sure what to do I can provide videos pictures etc hope this helps thank you for looking

Were there volume controls added to your machine?? Sometimes cheap pots can burn out.. Without added volume controls most machines (ones without real factory volume controls, the 3 position switch doesn't count!! ) will be deafeningly LOUD!!

hey there so I’ve taken a picture of the nob that controls the speaker there are 4 of them and no of them do anything I can confirm that all the speakers work as you see in the video if I press the wires down in a certain way they start to work I’ve also tried to solder them back on to see if that worked I tried that but when I did it the speaker Nob was not Working and was just at full volume

If you jump the two wires together and get full sound to a speaker, the problem is the pot or the connection to it.

just jump across with a screwdriver it piece of wire.. low voltage it wont hurt.. (to much )

Yes use anything to jump the wires temporarily. Rule the pots out The other thing that is common is that the contacts can get corroded on the 3 position slider switch as well. Spray the switch throughly with electronics cleaner and work it back and forth.

While anything can break, it's far more likely for these add on adjusters to fail than for the sound board to die!!

i just relised does the number on the Potentiometers mean anything the ones I have say B1K?

2 values are important. the resistance and the wattage. if the wattage is too low. they burn out like yours.

off hand after a quick search. I would go for these. also 1K but rated at 2W rather than basic ones which are 0.25W

its common. especially if the standard on board volume switch is set to high. If kept in the low position. its no problem. The other thing you can do. is just lower it a bit by sticking a permenent resistor inline. But it helps to know the value first.
