168 led replacements

Hey all, I had a few of the 168 bulbs around the perimeter of the reels go out. I wanted to replace them with led bulbs instead. So I purchased a 40ct bundle. Replaced all of them and within a few minutes the majority were burned out and extremely hot lol. like to the point of having to wait for cool down before i could remove them. Does anyone know what if anything i can replace the original bulbs with in the led style?

Do you happen to know the voltage at the socket on your machine and what the new LED's were rated at? Perhaps the bulbs were rated at a lower voltage than the sockets on your machine run at, had something similar happen when I was changing my arrnageball over to LED's, but I caught it pretty fast and removed the bulbs, which were very hot to the point I was worried they'd melt the plastic lenses in front of them.

I had several that were very close to melting through. Turning the clear lens brown almost black. I will get a voltage reading today and get back with you. Thanks for the suggestion. I don't know why that hadn't crossed my mind before.

Apologies i don't know why that double posted. Came back to say The voltage at the sockets is 26.03dc. Which would explain the quick burn through on the 12v leds...
Now to find a source for the bulbs themselves. Again thank for the suggestion.
