    Default A Cabinet for Fujiko

I decided it was time to make a cabinet yesterday for my Fujiko pachinko, the factory hopper on this one is hopelessly small, also it wasn’t as stable as I’d like with just basic “feet” attached as it’s stand. It felt too “tippy” (this one has a huge front heavy frame) so I whipped up this cabinet with some extra 1”x8”s and a 1”x12” board for the base using my trusty Kreg pocket hole jig.

As you can see, I added the extra hopper and kept it as a basic tabletop design with rear access ball catcher tray, which works fine for my current setup on a bar height table (don’t want to make it any taller than it already is)

Turned out pretty decent! I ordered a few Fujiko stickers to customize it a bit to be added at a later date.

Looks great! I went with triangular corners for the base with my last cabinet since I couldn’t figure out how to get the rounded shape to be even and smooth on the base. I am not handy enough with my jigsaw and not sure what tool would be better for it. What did you use?

Thanks! Just a jigsaw, going slowly is the key! It definitely helps to practice on a piece of scrap wood as I have ruined boards, but now I’ve made 10+ cabinets it’s much easier.

Then used a palm sander to finish it off nice, you can just sand down small mistakes to make the corners nice and rounded with some 80 grit sandpaper then 100, and 120. Just have to spend more time on those round corners than the rest of it (3-4 minutes or so focused on just the rounded edges, maybe 10 mins sanding rest of the cabinet for each size grit)

I have found the best way is a sander.. i use a couple of clamps to clamp my belt sander on its side and let it eat
