Default do you bend your nails?

i know its surely somewhere already mentioned but.....

...do your bend your nails to have an easier play?

i would like to do a poll with:

    a: yes, allways
    b: no, never
c: only when they are too tight

but i dont know how to do it

i have only one pachinko, but i bent my nails a little bit, so it plays easier. and therefore only the number of spinns are changed i should not affect the game so much, or?

I have two pachinkos and have bent the two nails out on both for more spins.

It makes the gameplay a little more exciting!!!!!

Being these game are for enjoyment and not to gamble with. I tap them to make the field a playable enjoyment. If it is an adult machine, a little tighter, but a childrens machine, a bit loose.
On my own machines, I set one side loose for others and if possible the right side tight for the challenge of "beating the machine".
A feature I have been adding (if possible) is a button to simulate a ball in the center pocket, this will get the wheels or LCD spinning and on Parlor Machines give you some balls (3 to 5 depending on machine).

Often a pocket and the surrounding nails are arranged in such a way that they totally prevent a ball from entering the pocket.

Three factors influence the path of a ball: launch speed (stored energy), gravity (constant force) and obstacles (energy dissipater).

I believe a properly designed play field should allow the player a reasonable chance of landing a ball into all of the game pockets.

Several excellent threads have already been written on the topic.

Once you learn how to bend a nail to alter a ball's path, then the odds of the game change. These adjustments are subtle. I reject the idea of adding or removing nails.

I do not bend the nail to such extreme angles that it is obvious that the game has been "tinkered with". In particular, extreme bends of the nails guarding the center start gate can actually make it harder to get a ball in because the balls have more area of the bent nail to deflect the ball away from the gate.

On the other hand, it's your game to modify to your heart's content. Just don't sell me one with missing nails, altered pin arrangements , missing sensors, and rearranged ball returns.

Ive only gotten machines (up to this point) from TA & Ive had to adjust the nails around the pockets on all (3) of them.
They are usually wide open at the bonus pockets & closed at the others as if they were testing them & wanted certain pockets to hit quickly. But they never bent them back.
I think like Dennis up to a point. In my limited experience Ive found that if it pays too quick I get more bored than if it dosent pay at all.
Theres no challenge to a quick payoff. But at the same time I like to get one in every now & then too.

Red face Re: do you bend your nails?

I have bent the nails on ALL my machines. Not to make them easier, but to allow balls to enter all the pockets. I can not believe that every machine I have ever bought (many vendors) was in this condition. How can people play them? Some pockets are so tight the ball would have to be half as wide to enter them.
I will typically bend them back to "factory" profile, dead on with a slight upward bend.

It is the way the play field is cleaned. I would (in the past) wish they didn't even open the window, or at least keep the brush away.

I've adjusted all my machines, as well. Some pockets were too tight, some were too loose. I do want all the pockets to work, and not be blocked, etc. After playing the machines for awhile, it becomes obvious what needs to be done around each pocket.

    Hey Folks,

Like Don, I adjust the nails on all my machines. I also want to see balls go in every pocket. I generally try to adjust the nails so the machine tends to pay out about as fast as it is taking in balls under normal play. When you hit a fever, of course, then the payout is obviously far in excess of balls taken in. If I were operating a gambling parlor with my machines, I would be losing money bigtime with the way my nails are set. But I am not operating a business, and I am happy with my machines paying out the way I have them.

    Best wishes,
    Dave Wile

I'm a tweaker. I'll tweak those nails to give me better odds at winning. This isn't about gambling after all, it's about home amusement. Why not have fun with it? I want to see the lights light and the reels spin. I don't just want to see balls bouncing off of nails. What fun is that?

OHHHHhhhhhhhhhhhhh...........It is "BEND" not "BITE". I thought we were having group therapy.

Well since it is bend........ I figure that the nails are suppose to be perpendicular to the board. So, I try to put them at 90 degrees. (This is what I would guess they would be like from the factory.) Like stated above, I have received machines in which balls could not make there way into a pocket.

I have to agree with the majority here... I'm a nail bender.
Nothing extreme. But I certainly open up the pockets that pay out to enjoy the machine more. After all, isn't that why we buy them? Home entertainment! If I wanted to torture myself trying to get balls into holes, I'd go play a round golf.

Like many here, I've seen some machines arrive with pockets that were impossible to activate. You couldn't get a ball in there with a hammer! I wonder if that's the reason they were removed so quickly... maybe nobody would play them like that. Perhaps the parlor management thought it would be easier to sell off the machine than to keep the rice wine away from the kugishi.

A while back, I bought a dozen or so tech manuals for some pachinkos. One of the things I found most interesting was the diagram showing the location of "key" pins , and the factory specs called out for them. They were given by clock position (1 - 12), and degree of bend. Very cool.

Logic is there anyway you can share your knowlege gleaned from these manuals? Like email a copy? Hmmmmm? Please?
The info about the "key" pins is interesting. Im assuming there is alot more to nail placement than just forming a route to a pocket, yes?
