Default New Guy With an Azteca Slot Machine

    Hello All

I Flip houses and I found an Azteca Slot machine in one of the houses. Luckily it was mostly working. It is missing the front lock, but a flat head screwdriver works, and missing the overflow bin. I knew nothing about the machine, but have learned a lot. I had issues with the coin mechanism. I converted it to accept coins and tokens, I know there is a rule against discussing this, but just want to explain my situation. Let's just say that in the end it was the bottom metal plate in the coin mechanism that was causing the tokens not to work correctly. I removed that metal piece and sanded the rust off it and then re-installed it a bit lower, now it works flawlessly.
Today finally figured out the last thing that was bugging me, how to reset the Hopper Empty error. Searched here but the only tips I found was to do a soft reset by turning front key to the left after filling the Hopper.
On this machine, that did not clear the hopper error. after much trial an error, the correct Reset for the HE or Hopper Error on the Azteca machine is to fill the hopper then press the button on the power supply. Caution the last payout will shoot out of the hopper.
Long intro I know. Hope this procedure helps someone...

I would have to say. All my machines would reset/continue payout after an empty hopper by turning the key anti-clockwise. Might be worth just checking the reset sensor on the door latch to see if it's working.
