New to PachiTalk, and first post!
Just acquired my first machine. Sanyo Comet II. It is rough but mostly in tact and great CL find for $15.
Doing a visual inventory I have found a broken lever and possibly missing a payout lever. It is also missing the top ball tract cover and front glass. I will try my hand at posting a pic when I have more time to spend on the way attach.
I found a picture posted On Feb 19 2009 at 5:55 by Member Discmonkey, of the seesaw lever. In the 4th pic it shows a lever, to the right of seesaw area, with paper clip arm on the right hand side. I think it goes to the payout but not sure because mine is broken and lever is missing. If anyone can explain the lever function and show a pic of the wire, i would really appreciate it.

I have one Sanyo machine...you can tell because the word "SANYO" appears 7 times on the front of the machine!
I don't know if it is a Comet, but I think I know what part you are talking about without a picture....

The lever you are inquiring about operates the winner ball exit gate. When the payout dump platform drops a payout to the front of the machine, it pushes down the rod coming down from the upper right, actuates the lever which raises the "paper clip" shaped wire and allows the winner ball to exit to the catch bin.
If the payout dump platform does not operate properly, (or the exit gate wire gets bent bad enough) this gate may not open all the way and the ball doesn't exit as usual. (This is a common location for jammed balls to be found).
Not 100% sure why the gate is needed in a production environment, but it's something you can probably live without for home use, and could possibly be why it is missing.

If you decide you want to try and make a replacement part, post it here and I'll take it off the machine and give you full 360 pictures
