    Default King Camel LCD

    For those King Camel players....

You've noticed that after the moon head person (I forget her name) pops up on the LCD screen sometimes three Japanese characters appear and alternate with the background. This is right before it scrolls "victory" (when it does).

Those three characters (リーチ)translate to "reach." What do you suppose that means? Reach? Reach for what? Reach for more tokens, you're going to need them?

I believe this is more of a Pachinko term.. it is those animated things that happen there with the "slot machine" numbers. I believe this is simply the same thing... there is another post about reaches on Pachinkos in that forum.

Bilko44 posted about reaches yesterday. Good explanation! See paste below:

Re: Gachinko 7_____Taiyo Electric 2003 *Ebay*
Let's use the Pink Panther game as an example of various reaches.

When a ball through the start gate, it triggers a spin and the resulting video sequence might go to the PP inflating a number with an air pump (that is a reach). Or perhaps the start spin cuts to a PP saloon scene and resulting train chase (that is a reach). Different video sequences are all called a reach and some reaches are more likely to result in a winning result than others. Many reach sequences have different outcomes which add to the excitement of play.

This is a considerable improvement over the original fever games of the 1980's which had predictable spin outcomes which players quickly became tired of seeing over and over.

The assorted reaches with the Gachinko 7 game provide the player with spectacular light shows of sparkling lights, changing music and clanging bells that mount to a frenzy when a fever game is finally hit.

So if I understand this right, a 'reach' is just the little moving picture that may indicate something interesting happening / getting ready to happen?

I wonder why it actually comes up and says 'reach' since that happens after the little guy comes up on the LED.

Has anyone else seen this term applied to pachislos? Everything on here talks about pachinkos.

Just in my everpresent question to know everything possible about my machines.

So he's saying "Reach?" Hmmmm, doesn't make sense for a pachislo.

Nor does the "Hachiii," however you'd spell it, which means "eight," according to my niece. Eight what?

All I know for sure is, something is going to happen, win, lose or nothing.
