Question What do these 2 switches do

    Hi All,

In a topic about a Pulsar Big Change there was some talking about 2 switches on the device what I thought was/is the power supply of my WAI 2 Pulsar.
This was also referred to as the control board, which sounds logical because there are also some control buttons on the front of the device.

Somehow I did expect the two switches on the upper side of the front of the black box to be power/short-circuit switches, but in that other topic it was suggested that they might have another function.

Can someone with more experience explain what these switches are/do?

The black box is in the lower left corner of the machine. Probably this is obvious, but I like to add pics:

One of them forces a Soft Reset after a Big Bonus Round.

The other, causes all the Credits to be paid out at the end of a Bonus Round.
What if...the HOKEY POKEY, is what it's all about?

    Ah, thanks.
And why do they have to be protected with a plastic shield then?
And why would I want to use a soft reset?
And would it be OK to have both switches turned on all the time?
Or should the normal operation position be 'off' for both?

Probably just an overly protective design.. Most machines don't have a cover over them..

I'm not sure if its the case anymore, but there used to be some parlors that after a Big Bonus you had to switch machines (or something like that) so with this switch on, the machine stops working after the bonus.. someone at the parlor has to come with the key and turn it in the lock to get it working again..

And I think the other switch goes along with that.. any remaining credits are payed out at the end of the bonus, since you can't use the machine anymore!!

It won't hurt to have them on, just annoying after a bonus!!

    Most people leave them off!!

Thank you! This is easy to understand information.

Don't know if it was/is a coincidence, or because I did change the switches.
Had some spare time, turned them both off and the machine on.
After the first few coins I did hid a Bonus Round.

After the Bonus Round I did have A Lot Of Coins and the 'Game Over' led turned on.
Any new coins inserted are being rejected. Did have to work again, so will try to 'fix' this later.
The Japanese to Dutch translation did not help to identify what switch does what, but will try later.

This story is not over yet.

(Will add the JP->EN translator lator.)

Wow. Yandex makes a nice, euh, I mean interesting translation:

On another website I had more luck:
The left text (for the left switch) seams to say: "Automatic release", which could be an automatic reset.
The text on the right says: "Automatic settlement", which could refer to the automatic payment to the player.

    (That website was: https://translate-image.com/)

Turning the front door key to the left should reset this so tokens will go in again.

Ah, nice. I have no lock in there, but I noticed an optical sensor.
Will try to trigger that one this evening.
